Son swore in yesterday morning…USMC. Of all the recruiters we visited, the three Marine recruiters were really the only ones that didn’t over promise or try and oversell their branch. I’m retired USAF and would’ve loved for my son to follow suit, but these Marines were so good and real…they def put us all at ease. Glad to have a Marine Recruit in the family.
I will say, It felt like it a bunch of times( do you work for free?), but you as an individual, it's all up to you what ever you make. Only if your in combat, the pay thing never makes a difference. For all of you thinking of pay, that is the last reason to join the military. Sir Yontz, you are awesome. Thank you for your excellent leadership. You sir, Inspire me.
Absolutely. People who are money driven and only join for a bonus are the ones who typically don’t enjoy their time in the service. Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it
I remember when I was in high school many years ago, some recruiter from another branch told me that the only job in the Marine Corps was infantry and that all Marines are infantry. I knew she was lying.

I went into an open contract but I'm not sure if the criteria today are much different from when I went in. I went in 89 and open contract was to the need of the Marine Corps, yes you had to have decent line scores. Also, I shipped early.
Tyler you forgot to mention there is a difference in chow halls in other branches of service 😄😄😄😁

Hey there, I’m retired from the Corps (Medically) after 17 years. I retired 30 April 2015. Civvie life sucks and I want to work with Marines again. I live in northern Nevada. What you got??
Pay.
Marines have lots of lower enlisted. Team leaders are E4. As to not pay them more. A squad leader is an E5.
Big difference E5& E6 pay & bah.
Even elite units do not receive SDAP. And if they do its low. Around 150 vs army 300-450.
These make a difference. Huge. Should not be this way.
What do I have to study for in the ASVAB to qualify for a job in a warehouse for the Marine Corps?? Im 23 and I’ve been working in warehouses and driving forklifts and other different machines since I’ve graduated high school and found out I’m pretty damn good at warehouse jobs, so just wondering if the Marine Corps has any MOS for warehouse or something similar if so, what specific sections of the ASVAB do I have to study for to qualify for that specific field???
Generally a score over 31 will make you eligible for enlistment for that MOS. Study and score as high as you can and you’ll be ok. Usually 35-40 will land you that job. Nothing too crazy tbh.

do marines have the chance to go to a four year college full time while maintaining active duty status and pay?
You could probably go to school after work wether I person or online or you can do this thing called mecep but you have to be an e-5 in order to do it
Is 0300 a difficult slot to get as in high demand

Thanks for the support! Hell yeah, wishing you the best with that. What do you mean by “activate”? As for going to school, once you’re in the fleet, you’ll go to the joint education center and speak with one of the counselors on how to enroll in a school and chose a degree plan. They’ll walk you through all the steps. It’s super simple
@@TSYONTZ Thank you sir, last question and an ill quit bugging but would you know how to request a transfer from coast to coast, do you have to serve x amount of times or reach x rank all that, or is that even an option to put in paperwork for a transfer. Just something I had in mind for later on in my career.

What do I do if my recruiter ghost me I had finished all the paperwork just waiting for meps and he disappeared I would stay in contact by texting him but he would not tell me anything helpful regarding my process 😢
Go to his office and ask what’s up..
Often times recruiters are busy but if you’re waiting to go to MEPS and already did the paperwork and he’s ghosting you now..that’s a problem.

If I learn Chinese will that be worth something?
It can be, language pay is a thing where the marines pay you for learning a language.
At the very least it might get you a meritorious promotion to PFC right out of boot camp.
