Yes, there is and they are the same as in Chinese where it is the reverse in direction of what is in English. Example: Northwest - north = bắc, west = tây, if you reverse the order, you get ‘tây bắc’ in Vietnamese which literally is "west north" due to those terms being derived from Chinese 西北 ("northwest" literally, ‘west-north’ in Chinese, therefore it is the Chinese word order that is being followed by the Vietnamese language via these specific compass directions.
