That would be fine Thanks :). No problems with the RTV so far. I used it to pull down an old shed with a chain this weekend, hauled endless trash from the woods up to the pickup, maneuver the trailer into a tight spot for loading then haul it up a hill to the pickup for hook up, haul 800 pounds of mulch and distribute it, then take the kids to the bus Monday morning...it's a handy machine.
This is the machine I am considering.. been looking at them for a few years now.... and now it is making extra good sense for working while navigating steep terrain safely.
We have the same one at work except ours has a cab with doors and a windshield. Ive went through a ditch with water so high it was well over the wheel arches and there were submerged stumps and logs. With this think in 4 wheel low with the diffs locked it went through it like nothing. The engine was completely submerged. It didnt even stutter. These things are a beast!! Ours is usually equipped with a salt spreader and a plow but we use it in the summer time for normal cleanup stuff as well.
I have the RTV 500 with work site tires with the real tree camo. Its amazing also. Has inpressed me so much. Doesnt have the speed but when it comes dowing to pulling, hauling or going through wet or muddy areas its gets the job done. I use it aroung home and hunting. Its not as wide as the other side by sides on the market so I can go where the rest cant't. Kubota gets two thumbs up!!!!!!
You definately have 2 main things in your favor ; diesel & 3 spd . In my opinion, UTV is a Utility Transit Vehicle made for work, not a SV (Sport Vehicle). good video
And the Kubota Transmission can be modified to produce more speed and torque... My neighbor got a JD buggy and when I got my RTV he thought I was copying him...lol...but his JD is basically a go kart for grownups...it's a toy IMO...can't plow, can't tow, can't dump. can't haul. can't run hydraulic tools. It looks cool and it's pretty quick...but that's about it. I plow the road with mine, haul rocks, wood gravel soil and mulch and dump it where I need it, I think the RTV is like a tractor
@carlman1987 I road over to the local Dairy Queen with the kids a while back. We cut along side a corn field and then down a private lane beside a small community and out onto the local road which took us to the DQ parking lot. We rolled up to the drive through and got some ice cream and road home...gotta love living in farm country.
@jmiller7284 Is it bottomed out in the mud? The only time I got stuck was when about 14" of snow packed up under the chassis. I wonder if some sort of belly pan to smooth out the under carriage would help. I had to wait until the snow melted...sorry you got stuck man...hope you didn't have a long walk.
In 2WD the turning circle is pretty small IMO. I would have to measure it. The thing barrel sips diesel. I fill it rarely...months can go by before I fill the tank...but I am not running it every day either. No complaints yet. It's built tough. I bash around off road a lot and use it to dray timbers out of the woods and haul heavy loads up and down hills. My only complaint is that it is slow especially when climbing...I can almost walk faster.
nice looking ride you got there, yepp diesels are strong, Am sorry i haven't contacted you about that thing, have been in the army for some time now :)
At what? Plowing a field? Hauling 1600 pounds of fill and dumping it? Towing a car? Grading a road? Clearing snow? Draying falling timbers? You are comparing a horse to an ox.
@Atv1023 Yep. There's a 6 point for the rear. I've got an idea about how to make something simpler that sockets into the tube right in front of the rear wheels...gotta get up to speed with some welding equipment and try that out.
Hi there, you sound like you really like your Kubota RTV 900 but I have heard that the turning circle is bad on them, what do you think? Also is it good at fuel economy? It looks very nice and I am sure that you will have many years of it!!! Thanks.
got one of these at work as a natural resource tech... its slow as fuck (tops out at 25) but it will get you where you need to go! its got an ass of torque, you can just feel it when you take of an drive it...Its pretty good offroad to mines got a locking diff,4x4, and a winch...and the turning radius is pretty good
my uncle's huntin buddy uses his to pull hay wagons (no hay in it) and to haul wood. up in PA where my unc lives he was sayin if your usin yours for a farm or something you can run it down the road and the cops cant bother you... just need the orange triangle on the back and maybe a bail of hay to make it look good. thinkin bout gettin one for huntin
@cyberdruidthemodgod i got mine stuck in the mud a few times, and they are bad for the snow drifts, it gets all packed up underneath it like you said, but over all i would give it a 9 out of 10 for performance, there really good machines
@96tmatt I did get stuck once since I made this video. We had about 14" of snow in drifts and the belly of the beast packed the snow up under and lifted the wheels out of contact with the ground :D Had to wait till it melted to get the machine back up the mountain. Taller tires would have been perfect then. My next mod will be to get more oomph out of the hydrostatic transmission...more forward speed please.
Typical RUclips commentary. Everything is garbage except what you have/like/use. Tell me all about how your Yammy is going to tow a Land Rover out of a clay slick. Tell me all abnout how that Yammy does plowing 12" of snow off a mile long gravel road up a mountain. Tell me about how well that Yammy hauls 1600 pounds in a hydraulic dump bed. And I'm sure that Yamaha has a hydraulic PTO for running heavy equipment. I'm sure your toy is lots of fun...but you aren't.

It's a super durable work vehicle.

Hey excellent machine!! i have apolaris ranger HD. Love it. Uncle has this RTV900 diesel. BOth very hard working machines!!!! Good video
Great video and features break down. Keep them coming!

you can get hydraulic tools form stnaley that will work with it. they have a hyd chain saw that looks pretty good as well as other attachments
I didn't have the Ag tires on mine, but I did bury it.
nice looking ride you got there, yepp diesels are strong, Am sorry i haven't contacted you about that thing, have been in the army for some time now :)

What plow are you using? I just picked one up at auction.
At what? Chain a Ranger back to back to an RTV 900 and see which one wins.
@FJSchrank No turbo but that would be a nice upgrade, that and some transmission modifications for higher top speed and even more torque.
@Atv1023 Yep. There's a 6 point for the rear. I've got an idea about how to make something simpler that sockets into the tube right in front of the rear wheels...gotta get up to speed with some welding equipment and try that out.

💯
Same stuff I go through every day feeding cows, pist me off its still stuck atm
listen, i have a 2007 rtv 900 with the same tires, and trust me you can get them stuck! and you should get a bed liner there so worth it
I wonder if it could run a wood splitter?
Figured out why I got stuck, slip shaft in the rear is wore out and came apart

How do you plan on getting more speed?
@jmiller7284 Wow. You must be using that buggy a lot. Hope it's an easy repair.Good luck!
how many hours you have on it now ?
@HansensUniverse No worries. Stay safe!
@jmiller7284 What the heck where you trying to get through?
Have the same pos, its lifted with meaty tires, stuck it today
Jason Miller what lift did you get for yours ? I have a rtv900 that I would like to lift an out different tires on. Thanks for any input
Nice video! Hope you don't mind I put it up on the new kubotartvforum so people can check it out.
