    Hi there!
    I’m a brasilian reefer with an SPS dominated tank that I’m running my own way, with calcium reactor plus a Barrak’s balling. Now a days, after trying the Fauna Marin color system , I noticed the increase of color and growth as well!!
    Tks for sharing your experience and hope you keep actualizing us!
    👏👏👍

    did you test all for reef von tropic marin just one bottle with all, would be interesting to compare it with the fauna marin balling

      Hi no, I didn’t. I’m not keen on all in one bottles as it’s very difficult to have all elements in one bottle and keep them not creating compounds. Not to mention that some of those products use particular element as a stabiliser and that can be a problem with overdosing. But that is just me.

    Hello. Did you notice sediments in carbon mix? It is settling on the bottom of the canister. Is that normal? Should I use stirrer in different flat bottom canister?

    • @newwaveaquatics8002
      @newwaveaquatics8002  4 года назад

      Hi Hrvoje, yes the kH mix will leave a residue at the bottom. What helps to minimise this is to warm up the ro water you are using for the kH solution so that not of the powder is dissolved. I have used stirer as well and that can help. But one way the resolve this is the warm ro water. Btw, even Fauna Marin says that this is something you should not be worried about. The truth is that bicarbonate of soda and soda ash do leave the residue when diluted so I would not be worried too much. One thing I make sure is that if I’m using the dosing machines suction hose is not close to the bottom so that the residue is not sucked in to potentially block the pump. Let us know how you get on with the products. Regards.

    hi i am just about to start this method of balling, what the differences between trace and colour elements? since they both contain trace essentially.

      Hi, I think it’s in concentration. Also, the colour ones are grouped so you can target specific colour based on the ICP test and make sure you only add the ones which are missing. One word of warning... do not use the colour supplants for a long time after you start the dosing.
      Also, at the beginning ... if your tank is not 100 across and other sps, I would reduce the Ca and Mg at least 20% less than KH. Just to make sure you are not overdosing.

    Are you running the fauna Marin zeolites as well?

    • @newwaveaquatics8002
      @newwaveaquatics8002  4 года назад

      No, not as a system design. Considering the size of my system and that I am doing coral growing commercially, financially it is prohibitive for me. However I'm thinking of setting up a "zeolite" system just to test their approach. I like their Zeolite reactor as it makes cleaning of the media very easy.

      @@tomg5405 hi, I did not have opportunity to setup a zeolite system yet, but I have been using zeolite on many occasions as a support for the chemical filtration.
