Surface modeling is an alternative to Solid Body modeling. Essentially, it’s just another tab at the top of the SOLIDWORKS User Interface. When creating the tangent planes starting at @4:13 you appear to have the tangent option selected by default. I dont appear to get this option. Only get two options, Perpendicular and Coincident - I am using SW 2024. Not sure what is different. I followed step by step? This only happens with curves generated from arc entities . Tangent is available with straight even dia. cylinder surface or spline revolved surfaces.

I do not know why it is not appearing on your model, or it has to do with version or the entities you've used.

@@3D-World I resolved the issue on the Solidworks forums and it appears that you have to add more construction entities to now achieve the same plane tangent options. I believe someone checked by SW version when this option became vintage and appears to be starting and including SW2020. I have the same issue on a different model of yours.
