Have you consideted Spring cushion buffers? Theyre about $23-$40 CAD. Its a vibration dampener that slides in between spring gaps that has specifoc sizes. I have a 2020 BRZ that has both installed DIY at the front and rear. From my experience, it stiffens up the stock springs a little bit and reduced body roll. I managed to drive to the limit of my tires when cornering a rounded off-ramp high-way and increase my cornering speed limit of +20 kmh before making the wheels screech and understeer. Before installation, I can only corner it at 80-90 kmh. Now I can corner entry at about 100 - 110 kmh.
I did a 06 sti swap in my 85 rx turbo sedan, that’s how it sounds on the inside, she is tuned at 375whp and 425ftlbs at first glance no one expects it to be any thing special but then…
I believe what you’ve tried to explain with preload is incorrect. It seems like you are trying to account for inadequate droop, which will not be affected by adjusting the spring perch.
I have a Honda accord sport 2022 what spring rate do you recommend for front and rear I want the bc racing br coilovers . I really appreciate your response thanks
Would you recommend bc coil overs for the track? I have a 240sx s13 debating between bc and fortune auto but I don’t know if fortune auto has 500 dollars worth of more performance
It’s not necessarily a matter of what drive your car is, more it’s weight bias. You want to compensate the heavier end of the the car with slightly softer springs, which will in turn shift the weight distribution in it’s favor. Most fwd cars have a heavier front end, so stiffening the rear or softening the front slightly would give better weight distribution.
Thank you so much for the time. That absolutely makes sense but for some reason almost all the aftermarket coilovers for my car are stiffer in front. I know i have read something about Japanese cars running stiffer in front and running bigger sway bar and links in the rear to compensate. But that could be nonsense, ive never bought coilovers and having a hard time deciding
That sounds like the standard spring rates for most off the shelf coilovers. Those spring rates are good enough for someone starting off with track days and autocross. The car will naturally under steer with those spring rates and the stock Integra sway bars. It'll make you learn how to use weight transfer to mitigate understeer.

That sounds like an awesome swap

im trying to figure out a good spring rate for my e46 that i want to run on a road course, any recommendations?
Look up suspension natural frequency and you'll learn how to pick what you need very quickly

I would say yes they ate worth the extra 500
If u have fwd car, would u want stiffer springs in the rear? Or front?
