Chris Gantry song in celebration of his birthday Dec 29th. Happy Birthday to Christopher Cedzich Gantry ! ( Yes, for early Kris Kristofferson (RIP) fans who don't know yet, that's THE CHRIS GANTRY who Kris grouped in with other singer songwriters like John Cash, Funky Donnie Fritts, Billy Swan as " wasted on the sidewalk in his jacket and his jeans, wearing yesterday's misfortunes like a smile." In his 1971 hit song The Pilgrim Chapter 23)!
The loss of his good friend Kris weighed heavily on Chris this year. On the positive side, 53 years and hundreds of poems and songs since The Pilgrim , Chris Gantry is still a sharp wit, a passionate resistor of obnoxious politics, a prolific writer of songs and poetry, and a guitar picker extraordinaire.
This is my favorite Chris Gantry penned tune. Box of Crayons.
