Weld in some sheet metal all the way round the inside diameter so you can't see the bearings then fill the inside with grease 😅 lights underneath so it shines through at night and somthing black flicks in the orange paint so you can see it's not rotating with the tire...

    Add a ring gear to the inside rim, then have a CV with a pinion running the ring gear, that will give you drive. As for breaks, easy, just a rotor the size of the inner rim and set it up like oversized disc brakes.

    Ok to make them driven. You'd have to mount them the way you see those electric hubless wheels that have the motor in them. You'd had to have the axles pretty much up against the inside of the ring with a pressure plate or bearing to keep it in contact with the wheel so it would send power to it or use a set of gears. As for non driven like the back id say change the bearings so they make no noise also add a cover over the inside of the ring so dirt etc doesn't get down into the groves

    • @bgbthabun627
      @bgbthabun627 Год назад

      i like your ideas, and may i add that a set of gears are unnecessary, because a traction drive would work just fine. I envision several motors mounted in such a way that they would engage the traction surface. also a braking ring that is mounted onto the wheel, with a caliper mounted inside would work nicely.

    • @terasestHammasratas
      @terasestHammasratas Год назад +1

      also, they could try to seal the back wheels and fill it with engine/transmission oil or grease to reduce the friction between the bearings and wheels. the wheel wouldn't need to be filled all the way, because the rolling wheel would distribute the oil or grease

    It turned out great. if you want to make these powered you'll probably want a much larger wheel diameter, that will give you more room for mounting whatever you're using to power it. You'll want to use larger roller bearings instead of those little ones you used, and I have one idea for how you might power it, basically running the axle onto 2 more axles inserted into the 'hub' running against the tire rail you have inside. Its difficult to explain. But doing it that way should retain the correct direction of force, otherwise you would have to drive in reverse. Alternatively use a chain drive, a motorcycle chain could easily run against a sprocket mounted on the wheel.
