And thank you for taking the time to write such an encouraging comment! :) It's definitely my plan to create more videos like these hopefully within the next few weeks!
Thank you very much for the kind compliments! My friend Alice is very good at what she does! :) The Yashica Mat 124g is an amazing camera to shoot with, happy to hear that I made you want to use it again!
Thanks a lot for checking my video and leaving a comment Rory! The Yashica Mat 124G is a super fun camera to shoot with. :) A little bit awkward at the beginning with the inverted viewfinder and the shape of the camera though haha. Have fun with it, Rory!
This video is helpful! I’m making my first BTS video on a super 8 camera this weekend. There’s a meetup of Oakland film photographers and I’m excited to capture the subject of black renaissance on film. Long live film!
Thank you for your comment Lakshmi! I've never had the chance to shoot on a Super 8 but I would definitely want to try that format in the future! Hope you will post your BTS on RUclips! I'm really curious on how that will turn out :)
Great video Mathieu, loved your photos as well ! I've been using just a point and shot for film lately, this made me hungry to use my SLR instead ! Gonna see the other videos, subscribed !
Thanks a lot man 😁 I 100% feel you on the hungover to shoot on an SLR haha. I very rarely shoot on a P&S for the simple reason that I don't feel like I'm "working" to get the picture haha. Thank you for leaving a comment and checking my videos! 🙏🏼
lovely shots! i love how you can still make the gardening people working in the background but still having that awesome bokeh. At wat f-stops did you shoot aprox?
Hey thank you for your message! 😁 I'm using the Sekonic L-408 but I'm considering changing it since it's getting old and buggy haha. Check on eBay you have plenty of Lightmeter !
Hahahahaha your comment about the model killed me 😂 The model is a pretty chill dude, pretty sure he never killed anybody (yet). Appreciate the compliment man haha.
It's called a Lightmeter which allows me to read the light and adjust my camera settings accordingly! In this particular video, I was using the Sekonic L-408.
Can you tell me what you did in 5:24 ? Is that something like a sensor that is telling you what settings you have to use? If so where can i buy one and how are they called ^^?
I used something called a Lightmeter ~ It's used to measure the light and it gives you a reading with settings you can use on your camera in order to get a "proper" exposure. You can easily find that online on website such as eBay! Check the brand Sekonic, it's the most popular one and it's very reliable :)
Thank you very much for watching! That's something I have been working on recently. Medium format gives me the freedom to crop and not loose quality while doing it. I appreciate the feedback! Help me improve :)
Some photos are decent, other are so and so. I think none of those where the model was smoking come out good tbh, aside from the fact that they were pretty out of context. A lot of them were very similar, you had a great place and an interesting model to work; you could have done better. Take this comment as an advice to improve your work. Cheers!
Hey! Thank you for leaving constructive criticism, appreciate it! :) Still learning how to shoot everything on film and get better with the whole process. I will keep your advice as a future reference for my next shoots!
@@mathieurabary The beauty of film is necessity to take your time before going on. Try to use less rolls and organize your shots! Try to take 5 photos with slight variations for every "macro photo", then move on. Have a nice day :)
Wow man, everything about this shoot was fire. Styling, location, and photos were all on point. Excited to subscribe!
Appreciate the compliment a lot Gregory! My friend is a good stylist, that definitely helped to tie this shoot together!
Nah Fr though bro them shots where godly the hood needed this 🤦🏾♂️📸
Hahaha appreciate the compliment, Norriel! Thanks bro!

Thanks RUclips for recommending this video. Hope to see more from you! Best wishes from Switzerland.

How do you go about developing and scanning film when you shoot for a magazine?
Depends on the intended use: print or digital.
But most of the times, I just ask my lab to scan high res Tiff on the Noritsu HS-1800.
I'm so inspired. love this ;)
Thank you! That motivates me to make more of these ;)
So good, keep it up bro!
Thank Emmanuel! Will do 😁

Lovely video, so inspiring. Also, I don't know who this model is, but he had the emotional stability of a stone cold assassin.
Hahahahaha your comment about the model killed me 😂 The model is a pretty chill dude, pretty sure he never killed anybody (yet). Appreciate the compliment man haha.
What is that accessory he has hanging on his 124? is that just a case?
It is indeed just a case!
Whats the machine that u use next to his face?

Wish you the best of luck in the pursuit of your dreams 😁
I constantly rewatch this video because I constantly doubt the true capabilities of the yashica mat 124g
Haha I feel honored to read that my video can be used as a motivational one. 😂
