greetings, wellington, new zealand here. i was visiting melbourne from 25-28 july 2022 (thank god for the borders between our 2 countries reopening) and part of my three days in australia was jumping on the train from spencer st to geelong on 26 july. It was seconds from jumping off the train that i grew absolutely fond of geelong, the only downsides was the crappy freezing weather that day (rain and a bit of hail) and having to leave your wonderful city. ill be sure to be back - from a kiwi who loves geelong

Don't think so. It's always been fairly empty on the days we've gone, with the exception of the beach during summer.
why does it give better vibes than melb ?
Depends on what you like, melbs is your typical fast busy city, Geelong is a lot quieter and relaxing.
