Ty, I’ve been extremely impressed with your content, both here and on your Chasing Cardboard channel. Keep up the great work! I’d love to learn more about 6 bit. Blessings, Matt
Ty, this was an outstanding presentation. Great job explaining your process and the costs and the selling platform. I agree, what to grade is extremely important, get that right and it's pretty hard not to turn a profit. Still baffled on the Frank Robinson rookie grade.
You just made a very difficult process sound possible 🧐 … I respect 🫡 your passion and ability to attack every challenge you face with a winning 🏆 attitude 🇨🇦❤️
great topic and video. Would like to see a video on sixbit. Other video suggestions that I would be interesting to hear your thoughts on are: 1) grading companies and should you use one or the other for various types of cards (modern, vintage, etc...) 2) auction vs Buy It Now, saw another comment on that as well 3) free shipping vs charged shipping 4) how you do your newsletters and promotions on eBay. Thanks Ty, always enjoy your videos and the Chasing Cardboard ones.
To be honest I am a firm believer that PSA is the "best" at grading modern, 80s and 90s and 2000 till today, cards. If you are going to go vintage and especially the 50s in both topps and bowman, have to go with SGC. They grade vintage the right way. PSA ALWAYS goes waaayyy too low on vintage grades for no reason that alot of people can see. I love the 279 submission. It's a miracle or a favor that you got it all done in a month. End of year or not. I will say that PSA does a great job in the late 1800 to very early 1900s cards. Other than that use them only for modern. This is all my opinion and it is held by many other collectors. Great work and all the best.
Love the content - just a question on deciding whether to auction or BIN. Is it purely a cash flow decision for your business? Results can obviously vary between the two selling options, but it seems on average you'd be leaving some money on the table going the auction route. Curious your thoughts.
Great question. I standardized on 10-Day auctions close to 2-years ago. It's a longer conversation, maybe a good video topic. But short version. 1. I personally enjoy buying cards via auctions, so I wanted to Sell that way. 2. Cash flow is important. 3. I have built a good following, so I get decent eyes on cards regardless. 4. I can group cards into small campaigns (collections/stories/etc...) and run for certain periods of time 5. Time. Time. Time. - Both waiting on cards to sell and/or trying to stay up on comps is very taxing. 6. When eBay starting allowing Ad promotions on Auctions, it sealed the deal. There are plenty of times I give up margin on cards... and then there are times where cards exceed "comps".... but the sheer volume that keeps moving makes it all worth it. (for my biz) Hope that helps.
@@CHASINGTYWILSON totally get it and that's basically what I expected. I'll tune in if you ever do a vid on the pros/cons of auction vs BIN. A dilemma for almost all ebay sellers.
LOVE this content Ty! appreciate all the time and effort you take to put these videos up and articulate the process clearly and in a very relatable way for us mid-level collectors ;) Just did something similar with SGC, fingers crossed..(also knowing SGC comp prices and processing prices skew lower). Have a great weekend.
This is a great video. I’m quite literally doing this as we speak. I just pulled the trigger on roughly 80 cards that have just been sitting inside my hard case. Great conditions, I’ve already taken the time and gone through them to make sure they grade well. Not sure why I haven’t already just submitted them. But now I did so let’s see how this goes, 2 months to go lol
6 bit info and..... Thanks for this video. I have alot of inventory BUT just getting started so i don't have your following at this point. How do you recommend proceeding in this beginning phase?
Great video, would like to hear more about 6 bit. Also I was wondering how you decide if a card is worth grading or not, is there a way to make it easier not to send something that may cost more to grade then it is worth.
Hey Ty. Love your videos, man. This is a random question, but how do you figure out what you spent on specific cards when seem to buy most cards in lots?
Very interesting. I hope you will follow up with a low starting price auction of the cards that didn't sell. Maybe do the same with the one day auction cards that didn't sell. But, I guess the "views" tell you whether there simply is no interest in the cards. Regardless, I think taking a loss and liquidating inventory allows you to put the money back to work - and would be interesting to your viewers. Thanks.
I believe you should have charged $5 shipping and added combined shipping for multiple items won. Gives buyers incentive to buy multiple items. Sounds small, but seems to work.
Good stuff! I'm doing a similar topic on a 1968 Topps lot I bought. But I do vintage through SGC. Cheaper, faster and I can explain the grades unlike PSA vintage.
I wonder if they knew it was your order because I sent 2 orders of 30 cards under that same PSA Special. Yours was scanned in on the 20th and mine were both scanned in on the 18th of November.. BUT you got yours back in December? My first of the two orders just had the grades pop and completed yesterday and the second one is still in assembly. I don't think anyone knows what's going on over there. LOL Great video, it's always great to see the numbers!
@@CHASINGTYWILSON that makes sense, maybe it was the size of the order, who knows. We must've had the same grader though. LOL I'm trying to upgrade my 1955 Topps All-American set and I had duplicates of some 7's and cracked them out hoping for an 8.. I got 5's!! 15 of the cards were about 2 grades lower (and I've compared them to other recent 7's beforehand).
I cannot imagine the time to grade and sell and ship all those MANY cards for a 2k profit.. wow..I’d rather work at mcodonalds then do all that and its not a guaranteed outcome….
@CHASINGTYWILSON on your website there's a spot for messages for people looking to sell collections. Not sure how often you return those messages, but I've yet to hear back.

ty - Really enjoy these types of videos. Keep doing them!
Appreciate that! I'm trying :-)
The best for vintage is SGC. PSA seems to be very inconsistent when grading vintage.
I want to learn more about 6 bit.

Love to hear more about 6 bit. Great chrono breakdown, Ty!
Nice video. Did the profit numbers you share already take out eBay costs ? What % of sales were your eBay fees? Thank you for sharing!

Yea a video on what and how to use SIX BIT would be very helpful for a lot of us trying to setup or run a eBay store better.
Ty always fantastic brother!
👊
I love that managers dream card as well. Such a classic!

I’m new to selling sports cards on eBay and your videos have helped a lot! I’m interested in 6bit!
Great video. Would definitely love a video on sixbit
Great video. Very interested in a video about 6 bit.
Great video as usual Ty! Keep killin it brotha 💪🏻🤘🏻

Great video, would like to hear more about 6 bit. Also I was wondering how you decide if a card is worth grading or not, is there a way to make it easier not to send something that may cost more to grade then it is worth.
Did you consider SGC? Lower cost to grade. A lot of the low-mid grade sell for just as much as PSA
Do you ever use SGC
Hey Ty a 6bit video would be amazing
From a buyers POV grading is like getting a pre purchase inspection for a used car.
I would like to learn more about 6 bit!!
PSA 3 on the Robinson is criminal
Agreed!
Do you think SCG with the older cards would have been a better choice
Potentially!
Should shout out this channel on chasing cardboard. Didn’t know it existed
Great video, Ty!! What's this about 6 bit?

Loves the vids Ty. Were these all .99 start auctions?
Did you consider sending your vintage to SGC instead of PSA?
All my vintage buys is sgc slabs.
Would you ever crack a case and resubmit it to a different grading company for a higher grade?
I believe you should have charged $5 shipping and added combined shipping for multiple items won. Gives buyers incentive to buy multiple items. Sounds small, but seems to work.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this content.
I also had a bulk submission go in less then 30 days. I was pretty surprised
do your sales figures also include the ebay fees you paid?
Good stuff! I'm doing a similar topic on a 1968 Topps lot I bought. But I do vintage through SGC. Cheaper, faster and I can explain the grades unlike PSA vintage.
Great video, keep them coming!
Appreciate that!!!

I definitely needed this video
Awesome! Glad it helped!
I'd like to learn about 6 bit.
What about, your travel expenses ? Gas,food, lodging? Then your time at home puting the auction together? Then the fees?
What about them? None of those change when comparing selling RAW vs GRADED....which was the topic of the video.
Great learning experience Ty
Is 6bit like card dealer pro?
30 day turnaround with PSA is unusual? That seems really fast
Yeah, this was blazing fast.
During that time, they were that fast. Since early December, slow as a turtle.
I wonder if they knew it was your order because I sent 2 orders of 30 cards under that same PSA Special. Yours was scanned in on the 20th and mine were both scanned in on the 18th of November.. Haha. I don’t think care much about me submitting…. If so, I would have got some better grades! 😂
@@CHASINGTYWILSON that makes sense, maybe it was the size of the order, who knows.
We must've had the same grader though. LOL

Dude, that Frank Robinson though...this, this is why PSA doesn't have my full faith in their grading.
Ha! Yeah, I'm still a little sour about that card.
Hi, was your total sale on ebay minus the ebay fees?
yep, 6 bit info please
Their are 100% vip customers at psa and if you think their turn around time is the same as everyone else it's not close. Ty gets special treatment
Nope. I absolutely do not.
Kool video 🎉
Appreciate it!
Most of the time, the grading cost will outweigh the sale price.
Need some 6bit videos for sure!
I want to learn about 6 bit
I’d like to hear more about 6bit
I want learn about 6 bit
Vintage is so tough!!!!
If you grossed 9918, wouldn’t the 13% eBay fees eat up the extra 1000 you grossed on top after grading?
13% is charged whether I sell graded or ungraded.... and 13% of $1,000 is $130... hardly eating up all of it :-)
What's 6bit
interested in 6 bit

I cannot imagine the time to grade and sell and ship all those MANY cards for a 2k profit.. wow..I’d rather work at mcodonalds then do all that and its not a guaranteed outcome….
You didn't let PSA know you were a content creator...that's the key 😅
Ha. In my experience, that doesn't matter to them.
Gamestop now accepts submissions so you can save money on shipping by going to the store.
interested in 6 Bit
Card companies and grading companies are manipulating prices. Wake up folks.
PSA cut you some serious slack on that 58 Mantle. You win some and lose some with this gig…
Sixbit video please
Awesome
What is your eBay name?
6 bit! 6 bit! 6 bit!

first
