  • Five hundred kilometers from the sea, the Bledowska Desert (Pustynia Bledowska) in central Poland is Central Europe's largest "desert."
Formed hundreds of years ago, when mining operations dried up the territory near Klucze, the sands formed when the earth became infertile. The result was 150 sq. km. of barren land.
Recently, reforestation projects have rejuvenated the area. Still, there is enough remaining sand to create this geographical oddity where visitors can have their own beach fun without being close to the water.
Come along with Matt as he follows a route through a forest and a city before arriving at the sands of Bledowska Desert.

Good to see you're back in Europe, Matt. I recall we had a great time picking mushrooms together in Slavutych!

And I remember how tasty they were on spaghetti.
      Thanks for dropping this note.
Hope you are doing okay during these trying times.
