- A compilation of videos to reconstruct Green Day's Lollapalooza Aftershow concert at the Metro in Chicago, Illinois on July 29th, 2022. This was a pretty legendary show with a lot of deep cut songs being played, including some Warning tracks being performed live for the first time in over 20 years.
I attempted to compile the whole concert together, but I couldn't find any footage of "Revolution Radio" or full recordings of "J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva)" and "Waiting" (plus, "Geek Stink Breath awkwardly cuts off). Apart from those songs, this is the most complete version of this concert online at the moment, enjoy!
Special Thanks to Anthony Catterson, Brendan Laoyza, nikimak12, Rich Ramey, thatonemusicguy, Liz Finch, Edward F. Pignataro IV, and Cara Carriveau for uploading their videos of the concert!

This setlist is arguably the best I’ve seen from a Green Day show in YEARS. Gems all around from warning, whatsername , MURDER CITY holy man I’ve been to 3 Green Day shows and I’d trade them all for this one show. What a legendary show. 🔥
I was screaming for murder city the entire show so I like to think they heard my request lol
i would’ve never thought in a million years murder city would ever be played again 😭 bring that SHIT BACK NOW
you know you succeeded as a band when even the guards in front of your scene sing the lyrics of your songs
GUYS WE NEED HOMECOMING BACK
Homecoming is so good.
Damn I honestly can’t believe they played church on sunday, they absolutely need to play songs from warning more often, castaway definitely deserves to get played again live.
Every song on that damn album deserves to get played again or even for the first time ever.
I would totally pay just to listen to that album live.
@@thetymemachine3652 I was at the show in Sacramento, in 2009, where he sang the first line of Misery (only time they have ever done that) and I nearly soiled my pants. Before they played the show above, I considered this the greatest setlist, in the latter half of their careers. ruclips.net/video/_vFSMvai1WY/видео.html
@@BafaaBBojangles between that and the no pride tease.. sheesh!
Frrr
Can't believe they hadn't played Warning live since 2001
It’s weird to think my entire life up until this show they hadn’t played Warning nor Church on Sunday (born Dec. 2001)
The guy who started singing the second verse of Warning was living the best day of his life
an actual legend
53:53 a moment he will never forget. legendary!
A great fan interaction for sure, rarely seen, and the clueless security bouncers almost appeared to not wanting it to happen at all ! 🤔😡
it really doesn't get any better than that
and he did really well!
i cant believe they hadnt played their best song on all of their discography since 2005
letterbomb also ;(
@@barsiknotdead I was so sad when Letterbomb wasn't played at Hella Mega, It's my second favorite GD song behind Murder City
They need to play sets like this at their regular shows 😭
I really wish they would play more of these fringe songs. Bang bang, rev rad, too dumb to die, whatsername, church on Sunday, scattered are some of my favorites
They need to play Forever Now again, and more songs from the Warning album too.
@@standard-carrier-wo-chan like castaway or fashion victim
dude this setlist is gold: scattered, chump, disappearing boy and others
what an absolutely fantastic setlist. in awe
Their set at Lollapalooza was legendary. Their set here was even better.
Whatsername is my absolute favorite Green Day song, wish I was there.
I love how Billie tells a fan to put their phone away lol 😆
so great to see whatsername played after all these years. legit thought they would never play it again
oh man I'd love to see Green Day playing these songs again! I went to the Nimrod, Warning and American Idiot tours. They were amazing! to have heard songs like Castaway, Maria, 2000 light years away, Going to Pasalaqua, Nice guys finish last, Only of You, Platypus and Loads more rare one is really special
Thanks for crediting my husband for his videos and for putting this together! Such a special set, somebody had to do it so thank you.
Was wondering who would sit there for 80 minutes of this show with a camera up!
I can't believe this shit is almost 2 years ago... I remember when this happened and it was massive BC of the setlist (and warning)
This is the best Green Day set list, they play the hits but it’s not just that. As a fan of 90s Green Day (I Also Like American Idiot), this set is amazing a perfect mix of deep cuts, old hits and new stuff
Man I wished this was a pro shot.
Always thought church on Sunday and warning were both great songs. Cool they’re playing them again
It's one of their finest albums
Warning is actually an amazing album. It's full of melodic stuff, really creative and good tunes, every song has a hook and every song has its own personality.
@@thetymemachine3652 I really think it’s their worst album apart from FOAMF (but we don’t talk about that) 🙃
I find Warning really just plods. Church On Sunday, Fashion Victim and Deadbeat Holiday are great songs though.
What a set list, I really hope to see Green Day perform in a smaller venue like this someday. Thank you for putting this together!
First Metallica played at this gig in 82 then 2021 and finally GREEN DAY! AMAZING!
I was at this Green Day show and Lars was sitting in front of us on the balcony.
@@heyholetsgo that's awesome!
The thing I hate about this band: them clearly knowing fans enjoy sets like these, yet still playing greatest hits on tours. Also, not recording their sets, they’re missing a gold mine.
Indeed. I’d pay for a pro shot of this along with a pristine soundboard of it!
They would argue that a gig at a club (even a large one) is very different from an arena show. Lots of casual fans who only know the hits will find their way into an arena show after all, and they would be sorely disappointed if any of the hits was skipped. However, I would argue that so fucking what. There aren't all that many absolutely must-haves in Green Day's career and it should be trivially easy to put together a changing setlist that still featured American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Basket Case, Good Riddance and a couple other truly 'unskippable' songs
True
They don't need money.
Well also with a tour like hella mega not everyone is a green day fan. So they're not gonna play deep cuts like this to mostly people who aren't fans
0:00:14 American idiot
0:03:38 holiday

Amazing setlist. Whatshername is an amazing song, they need to play that more. And it's been 20 years since they played Warning live? What a show this must have been.
This setlist was absolutely epic!
I was there and just watched this whole thing. It brought me back instantly. Thank you for this compilation❤
6 months after the fact and I'm just bringing myself to watching videos of this. It was heartbreaking not getting tickets 💔. Ugh. Thank you for this!
thank you
crazy setlist!!! awesome!!
This is gold!
THANK YOU!
Tried so hard to get tickets for this show. Thanks for making this.
I need to see them again!
What a setlist! Epic show
Omg thank you for putting this together!
Damn, such a wicked setlist!!!!!
Love Chicago and the Metro - great show by Green Day! Thanks for compiling the videos!
Whatsername! Lucky bastards!!
Wow so many deep cuts!! 🤯
Thanks so much for putting this together!!
Great concert!!
Holy shit, this setlist🔥🔥🔥
I wish they played for RevRad songs. I adore that album.
this is probably the best video of green day playing live that I have ever seen, there's not cuts every 400ms and you can actually watch the fucking band. hell yeah!!
This was such an amazing setlist! I'm glad they brought these gems to the setlist! And I love how interactive and alive the crowd was. Awesome show 💯🔥💯🔥💯
Goddamnit I love this band so much and have since I was 13, so good!!!!
That performance of warning was fucking awesome
Glorious glorious set list thanks Ultimate Spidey for the reconstruction
this is epic 😍
Whatsername holy shit! That song still hits hard since it came out and I’m 28 now.
You're a legend for doing this, my friend
Shiiittt long time no see green Day!
0 songs from their most recent album. Just as it should be. :)
Pretty good setlist. Lots of older and newer stuff.
Best venue in the world. The only thing I miss about moving from Chicago is the shows at the Metro and the Aragon.
So dope
this is gods work. cheers
Reminds me of the gigs in the 90s this is green Day!
Best concert I’ve ever been to. Can’t believe I was lucky enough to go.
very lucky
How was this advertised/made available? Were tickets crazy expensive?
@@jaredwehr1431 they teased it on their Instagram and then formally announced it a couple days later. Tickets were $70 after fees if you got them at face value.
I didn't even know they were playing at the metro
I was on the balcony, got some good videos of Tre.
I love how Mike sprinkles water over the crowd before they perform basket case which is my favourite song by green day
I probably won't see Green Day live again until they mix up their stale setlist and do something like this on a more regular basis. I don't think their set has changed much in over 10 years.
Sucks when bands hit that point. I’ve seen Collective Soul 4 times now and it’s been nearly the same thing over and over. Bands should always have multiple deep cuts to choose from on any given night.
I honestly wish bands would follow pearl jams setlist system. Seen em like 8 times, truly unique set every single time... even when I saw em 3 times in a week
@@rileyk5228 I’ve heard nothing but good things about Pearl Jam when it comes to their concerts
@@rileyk5228 Yep, and Bruce Springsteen is another example. About 10 years ago I saw him at the beginning of his tour, and another show at the end. 16 songs were different from the first show. Of course he plays about 35 songs, close to 4 hours. At least he used to!
I love the people doing the little improvs from bullet in a bible hahaha
Can't wait to see them in Texas.
It won’t be the same. This was an exclusive show, at a small old school venue in Chicago (Metro) where lots of big bands get their first start. Arena shows don’t have a bunch of this in their set lists.
Great drums 👍👍👍
They actually played the kerplunk version of welcome to paradise
What do you mean the Kerplunk version? Lmao, the song is the same. Just the recording and production is different.
@@Hero_Of_Old they also edited the lyrics slightly from the version on kerplunk to the version of dookie
@@saffronthurkettle6795 the lyrics are the exact same
Bruh I was all exited that they were doing jar only for it to last 20 seconds 🤣
420th like! Perfect for green day 💚
Holy shit, that was Pretty Vacant right after Warning after Billie said that Johnny Rotten line about being a lazy bastard
I love seeing tre forget how church on Sunday goes!!
The most refreshed setlist in forever that's my only issue i had with Green Day live is their full repetitive setlist. Although many here has been played thousands of times it's nice to see them bring back some older songs not heard in forever.
I wish they would do an extensive club tour.
so glad they brought back Murder City
Finally a good version of Minority!
Bang Bang is truly an amazing song!
bill man please play this set at a regular concert
que toquen estos temas el 11
Church on Sunday ho my godddd!!!
Thank you so much for Putin this together, for the internacional fans are very aprecciate. ♡
PRE IDIOT SETS PLEASE
setlist god
bricked
This might be the best setlist played since Reading 2013
07:19 one of the best green day songs, the only songs that’s could top it would be American idiot, basket case, when I come around and redundant
the fact that you think ai could be better is hilarious
@@toaster_waffle1 it's on the same level as letterbomb maybe just above it
Saw these guys in Vegas when against me opened(I was actually more there to see them fwiw) but gotta give Billie Joe credit...he went hard for 2 1/2 hours straight.
Nobody’s talking about how they played a trilogy song. Even if it wasn’t the full version it was still a trilogy song
WHATSERNAME!!!
I'm almost positive there's footage of them playing whatsername more recently but the Billie's guitar lost connection to the amp and Jason switched to rhythm until he was back up and running
Can't believe they played Whatsername and Church on Sunday. We need more deep cuts and not the same choreographed copy/paste sets.
Come on Bille you should rember oh love it was one of you’re biggest hits
I think they should play Jesus of suburbia everytime, Is a masterpiece..for my luck they did in the european tour
They still play Welcome to Paradise in high pitch, right?(or in this case,E minor)
This set list is truly wild, loving the Warning era songs. I remember watching something where Billie talked about if there was ever an album they'd retrack it would be Warning I wonder if they're messing with the songs again for that
Shame they don’t play all of waiting it gets cut off
Was that like an OGs only concert, like did they ask you for your copy of warning instead of a ticket lmao
Jason white is the Bob Weir of Green Day
Shame not all the songs on the set list are here it cuts off some and misses revolution radio entirely still a great show though
Dude ofc it will get cut off, they didnt play any of that songs for like a decade ago
@@helpmeget1ksubs562 I think he means the recording literally cuts out just as theyre starting to play Revolution Radio and picks up again after it.
