Walked past you on this but you was recording at the time so didn’t want to interrupt. But I fan boyd inside that I’d seen you 😂 so glad you got a tour guide though and went to our decent bars, where as so many will often report how we only have the wellington for ales. Also love you being so positive about brum. We get so much slack from people just cause of the accent or the 5 mins they spent here once upon a time in the cr@p end of town.
You should see Broad Street on a Friday and Saturday nights. Utter chaos. As an almost mid 50s fella and a non West Midlands local (been up here since 2012 and live in Dudley), I've frequented that side of Brum many a time because it's always been my wife's thing. However, since I discovered your channel last year, I discovered other parts of Birmingham that are definitely better to enjoy a drink, so thank you for that. I might think I'm still in my 20's,the reality is I'm not and definitely prefer a more civilised night out these days. Thanks.
Not been for a couple of years but the Victoria was our starting point on a bi annual pub crawl there. Even though its very close to new street it's easy to miss
Never heard of The Mailbox? Back in the day it was the Royal Mail's main sorting office in Brum. In those days the Craven was full of postmen seemingly 24/7. And this was before the pubs opened all day! it's a lot smarter now
Love your videos but is it possible to spend a little more time on the filming of the names on the bar beer pumps as you seem to go over them a bit fast to read. CHEERS!
Broad Street gonna Broad Street. My mate got into O Bar in trackie bottoms on a Saturday! And i got thrown out at 4AM despite wearing a nice jumper and shirt combo. Ok, i was asleep standing up i admit. Thats what that awful 'music' at those dives does to me. Luckily we have so much better away from Broad Street. Off to The Colmore next Saturday for a leaving vash, i know you enjoyed it there on another video.
Nice crawl! It was interesting to see Bonehead, that used to be my mates record shop, quite a difference now! I'm surprised you didn't go in The Flapper after The Prince of Wales, shame as the Flapper is a lovely pub. Shame about Broad Street but honestly no surprise, I've had a drink in the spoons there if we're going to a show, would never go anywhere else up there though.
I wouldnt say Cherry Reds is under the radar....i always start in cherry reds, full breakfast and a pint....its miles better than weatherspoons or brewdog.
Excellent vlog, as always. Have moral qualms about Brewdog, however. Would recommend a boozy session around Moseley, which, if I'm correct, i don't believe you've covered before.
Should go to Newcastle. You ger women wrestling/fighting in bars and loads of pint glasses being thrown around. I got hit, but luckily only in the foot.
The Old Joint Stock, Purity Bar, The Wellington, Lost & Found, or any number of pubs in the Jewellery Quarter would have been a better choice than to ruin a good day by going down Broad Street.. Hell, even Digbeth would have been better.
@@garyrigby21 Because your comment is irrelevant. Nobody is interested if a 'random person' like you or your mate prefers Liverpool or anywhere else for a night out. This video is not about comparing Brum with anywhere else and we don't need herbert's like you trying to make Birmingham a second fiddle to anywhere else, including Liverpool. Birmingham can compete with anywhere in the country ( except London, obviously).
@k.avilla8061 do you understand this is a Public forum for anybody to comment? You're reading too much into it I wasn't comparing anywhere. I'm allowed to say my mate prefers Liverpool if I want to
Spent many a drunken Friday night in The Victoria, great cocktails, dj playing 90s hiphop ♥️
Another class video! subbed yesterday and can't stop watching your vids.

Catch a tram from new st to the Jewellery Quarter and go to the Jewellers Arms. Fantastic place
I've done the whole of the Jewellery Quarter mate... the video is on here

Check out The Flapper on your next visit! Just a bit further up the canal than Canalside
This is my gaff mate and excellent ratings bro

Generally it’s people from outside of Brum that tend to go broad street. It’s a Hell hole
Think it’s been cleaned recently! When was the last time you were there?
@@christinedalton5745 the clientele is still the clientele. Given I live in Brum, see and know it pretty well
Assuming the Tap & Spile was closed? Shame if it was as that’s a decent pub.

I'll try my best mate. Cheers
There 2 of my favourites cherry reds & the craven arms. I wouldn't go anywhere near broad st now not for me
You did a good pub crawl there except the bars in Broad Street. You should know better 😁🍻👍
Proper pub the railway. No frills or fuss. Enjoyed this video and surprise surprise there's clots in the comments slating Brum again.
It’s usually people who’ve never travelled the country/never visited the place that slate Brum.

I've done The Flapper before mate so opted to get another few numbers in

For the “tourists” it usually is as it’s tucked out the way
@Marcoh85 lol I live Liverpool, I am definitely a tourist but Glasshouse are always the brewery you look at and they often championed cherry reds
Agree love Cherry Reds but it is tucked away
@@Marcoh85that’s why it’s good to check what’s available when you visit a new city

I did most of Moseley a few weeks back mate (video is on here) - I've got 2 left there to do I think
@thegreatbritishpubcrawl Excellent. I'll take a look.
Should go to Newcastle. You ger women wrestling/fighting in bars and loads of pint glasses being thrown around. I got hit, but luckily only in the foot.
Bonehead is great but small.
Should have gone too Alberts Schloss for a late night drink

Did you watch the beginning of the video?
@@stephenrawlings5984 my point is valid regardless.
won't go to Broad St if you paid me. Bloody awful place.Always has been
It was OK in the 70s. The dash for cash in the 80s ruined it.
Got a mate in Brum but he'd rather come to Liverpool for a night out
Yes, so what ? what is so special about your mate's opinion ?
@k.avilla8061 the question is why is some random person on RUclips being rude to me for no reason

Can’t stand Birmingham. Notts is better bar crawl
Brum has lots of great pubs but Nottingham is a better city for live music
Going to Bonehead without eating. Im fine. Im fine. 🥲
