What he needs to do is learning to contact partially with the hips and not drop his hands below his waist in the paint. @@cptfwiffo The issue was he would initiate contact using his body instead of just going straight up. People love talking about handchecking but that made playing defense easier. Bigs nowadays are more athletic so they want that block and want to deny everything in the paint especially from smaller players but that's how you get into foul trouble.
Can’t stand seeing dudes gifted with size and athleticism just go out there and not know how to play at all. Watching Mo Bamba last year, dude is over 7 feet tall but plays like he is 5’9’’. Never in the right spot, never boxing out, never grabbing reboUnds. It’s so frustrating. Bol is the same, dude never makes the right play. Always just out there like a traffic cone watching everyone else move around.
