making sure the deleted code covers also the pipeline scripts, destroying not just the one you are working on but other projects that rely on the same scripts
14:14 that pattern is helpful when it comes to async storage. When the cost is super low, and it simplifies your component code (only render the component when the data has returned => the component is sync). I think there might be a proper use case for fetches that have a >90% chance of being needed. Id just throw in a couple of comments tying the fetch func and the component together. This would only be useful if Page 3 is only pointed at by Page 2, but that still happens great talk tho lots of takeaways
I think it's even more important that seniors ask dumb questions too, in order to showcase that's the culture you want to have. Even better if a senior asks something a more junior dev knows or can help out with somehow, to grow their confidence and simply to have fun together solving problems.
Funny enough I bullied Prime into doing more of it for like a year. Still figuring out where I want to set my "bar" for content on this channel, more coming soon!
I know I’m behind the times on this video but quick question: would it be valuable to have the no default exports rule in next.js and just over ride it in the lint config for pages/layouts? I like using named exports whenever I can.
LOL, what's up with the thumbnail 😅 I enjoyed the commentary. We got to talk about allow-lists outside of files at some point. I think there is a world where you might have both directions.
Can next.js be used to build a highly user interactive application. we have alaytics, charts, SMS/MMS application, Promotion email templating all under a login.
I'm just horrified at the lint rule example. What happend here? Did that person forget how to use the ComponentProps type? Someone please help them... also the any below that could easily be autofixed to unknown and it probably wouldn't even break anything. No clue why the default export rule is even enabled in a Next.js project tho. Just wow. Like even if you don't want default exports at least make an override for the pages and app directories where they are required to work and do named exports everywhere else...
@@t3dotgg 🤦🏼♂️ I should of been more clear. I was directing my comment towards others in the comments who don’t carry the same ‘ex Twitch developer’ title accelerating their projects (no disrespect intended); who are creating web apps for the goal of monetizing. The market for web apps have been hemorrhaging for the last decade. Unless someone is an influencer, monetizing any project in the modern world is nearly DOA. i.e Why would I use the Walmart web app when I spend 90% of digital consumption on my phone? I don’t remember the last time I heard someone say “Hey, visit our webpage.” It’s always “Download our app.”
my web apps perfectly scale from 0 users to 0 users thanks to your tips 🥰
jsjsjsj goddamn nigga
@@mikealejandro3938ayo
That's about a 1000x scale! Congrats!!!
@@sendut Haha you idiot. It's actually 7.63x scale. I did the math.
Web apps always have 0 or 1 user, nothing to scale anyway
Absolutely love Principle 2 - Deleting code at my job is my FAVORITE thing to do. Also agree on the code coverage point.

This talk instantly became one of my favorites, love it so much

Is Theo finally gonna be doing react videos like Prime
I belive Theo started it first, way before Prime

THEO PLEASE please please do a git video (with exaclidraw). would really love to get your thoughts on how to use it effectively etc etc
thanks t3. I prefer presentation reactions instead of blog / reddit reactions
Gotta say, I’m as smart as Malte I nailed all these things in my role.
does anyone have a link to the video mentioned at 9:43 ?

Great!
Do a video on prisma/drizzle security against sql injection on the new RSCs
Neither are vulnerable to SQL injections? Lmao
Taking the React content to a whole 'nother level by reacting to react

Would be cool to see a video where you go into more depth on incremental adoption/fallback with trpc for app router you mentioned Theo
Reading comments first, then watching the video

The sound on this video is pretty weird today, it sounds almost warped or something

This guy spearheaded development of the web framework that now powers most Google web apps.
the real price of vercel is the bandwidth, expensive af
at my job we use vuejs and man I wish we used next
What do you mean 5:25? You just push reaxt 🤷🏻
I was going say the same. React is slow af related to iteration speed.
I would just add that he is not pushing React, as React is the de-facto standard today. He is pushing back new better tools.
@@erickmoya1401 not if you are experienced with it…
Wait how old is Theo wtf, he looks 20 and 35 at the same time
Are you Connor Leahy’s brother ?
No one uses web apps anymore 😅 Comment down below how many users you have and how much you’ve been able to monetize your project. I’ll wait 🐒
~140 million, monetized by advertising and user transactions ;)
As much as I hate on Twitch, it is a great reminder of how awful your take is lmao
