I think that Hatsune Miku is missing because crypton, the company who makes Miku’s voice, left Yamaha after vocaloid engine got too expensive for crypton to keep running. Miku is owned by crypton exclusively and she has an entirely new voice & design, so it would be hard for Ubisoft to get the rights for her in the midst of something that is essentially company chaos.
There is some interesting parts about some of these: - Avicci likely hasn't been included due to his s*is*de in 2017 (R.I.P) - Anja was meant to have a song in JD2014 but left Ubisoft due to issues with her record label, though she has stated many times that she would like to return to Ubisoft - Rihanna has not only not appeared in the mainline series, but hasn't reappeared in JDU, JDNOW or JD+, likely due to her striking a deal with Dance Central
Its interesting because some of these artists' songs are in Plus which meant JD got these liscences pretty recently. Maybe they're not prioritize as much which is weird because you have someone like Demi Lovato, who only has 2 songs, one of which is her as a featured artist. There's also Jason Derulo whose last song is Get Ugly. It's weird since he seems like the kind of guy who'd willingly give his songs to video games.

Thing about Hatsune Miku, her songs are made by Vocaloid producers. In one of the Japanese just dances games where Tell your World was featured, the producer/real artist is credited. The reason Miku isn’t an actual artist, for those who don’t know, she is a voice synthesizer and can’t make her own songs.

Becky G, Christina Aguilera, Elvis Presley, Jason Derulo, Ellie Goulding, PSY, Pharrell, Pitbull, Jessie J, Miku Hatsune (we have been LONG overdue World is Mine!), Kesha (she needs a triumphant return now that she's free to release new music)... the reason why anja never made a come back is for the reason that she had a bad experience and didn't get paid enough for the songs she was releasing and decided to leave with another music company which never made her come back to just dance while her songs still remain in the just dance game files just never were placed to come back into unlimited or JD+.now the reason why anja also left is because she wasn't treated well and never got paidd the right amount of money for her songs and rights. I know this bcs of a video I saw and anja comfirming it and she also had said she wanted to come back just now her name is not gonna be anja anymore and changed her music career name to ANEEA.
Sorry for the correction, but Hatsune Miku's first song in Just dance was actually "Tell Your world" by livetune being released in Just dance Wii U for, well... the Wii U. But, it only released in Japan.
How about Echo by Crusher ft. Gumi?? I want the background to be monochrome (and feature televisions) like the MV and the coach to be based off of and named after the character depicted in that music video, who is named Primadonna. In the Just Dance lore, I’d like Primadonna (the Echo character, not the Marina and The Diamonds song) to be related (preferably a sister) to the coach of Video Killed The Radio Star, who also has a TV for a head like she does!
Agree, as a massive Vocaloid fan, I think we need more Vocaloid songs in Just Dance. And not just ones with Miku, I think even some with the other Vocaloids like Gumi, Kaito, Rin and Len, Luka, and the others. I mainly like songs with Gumi (especially by Crusher and Kira) so I could def imagine songs like Circles, Monster, Machine Gun, Again, and Echo on Just Dance. And if they were to do another Miku song that's currently popular, I'd say Mesmerizer and M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥SHOT!. I think the reason why some of the artists aren’t not yet back to Just Dance is because Ubi is basing on the relevance of the artist nowadays or the potential to rack up the game sales (e.g. Kesha, who hasn’t making a comeback to the game due to her relevance in the music industry, Avicii, aside from his death in 2017, his relevance as well). Other artists such as JLo, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera or Becky G are most likely due to licensing issues between Ubi and the record labels. While Rihanna, on the other hand, has also licensing issues (others say she doesn’t agreed to have her songs in the game anymore… Idk where they got it from and if it’s true or not)
Rihanna had signed an exclusivity contract with Dance Central, like Usher. That's why we got DJ Got Us...Only last year. So there may be a hope for Rihanna in the next games.
Also, and I know she wouldn't be mentioned because of the three-songs rule, but it shocks me to this day that for a name as big as MADONNA she only has one song in the series... not to mention years ago. I hope we get something like Vogue or Material Girl one day.

Here is my comeback wishlist for these singers/artists (if they even *can* make a comeback. I know Rihanna sadly can’t😢):
Hatsune Miku - Miku by Anamanaguchi (I hope they credit the producers this time instead of just Miku because *they’re* the ones who did almost ALL of the work on the songs. Miku didn’t actually write or compose the songs she sang in because she’s just a singing software and not an actual human, although her voice was *provided* by a human. I want this one to be kinda like a Hatsune Miku throwback map!) or Daisy 2.0 by Ashnikko (I know the original did appear in Just Dance Unlimited, but the map for this version of this song, which features Hatsune Miku, could be a special alternate routine, probably called Miku Version!)
One Direction - Perfect, Story of My Life, or Drag Me Down (technically, One Direction *did* make a comeback, but it’s just by the solo members (mostly Harry Styles with Adore You in 2021 and As It Was in 2023 Edition). Zayn and Louis also each had one song appear in JD [Like I Would by Zayn in JD 2017 and Familiar by Louis and J Balvin in JD 2019])

Well, there's the chance of we never seeing some artists again because JD like to follow trends to keep relevant like:
Boy bands were relevant? They put boy bad songs.
Hatsune Miku was popular? They put some of her songs.
K-pop is popular? Put some songs from popular kpop bands.
That girl band from lol is popular? Put some of their songs.
A meme song is popular? Put it on the game.
And so goes....

I think the reason why some of the artists aren’t not yet back to Just Dance is because Ubi is basing on the relevance of the artist nowadays or the potential to rack up the game sales (e.g. Kesha, who hasn’t making a comeback to the game due to her relevance in the music industry, Avicii, aside from his death in 2017, his relevance as well). Other artists such as JLo, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera or Becky G are most likely due to licensing issues between Ubi and the record labels. While Rihanna, on the other hand, has also licensing issues (others say she doesn’t agreed to have her songs in the game anymore… Idk where they got it from and if it’s true or not)
Rihanna had signed an exclusivity contract with Dance Central, like Usher. That's why we got DJ Got Us...Only last year. So there may be a hope for Rihanna in the next games.
