Back in 1989I learned to co-pilot a Huey in-flight incase the pilot was or co-pilot was taken out. I never learned to take off or land, but was pretty sure that would be easier than learning how to emergency jumping into the seat of a wounded pilot. With only 20 hours of flight time - I did what I was taught to do very well. Your video was so helpful for me and my memory of my Huey. Thank you so much.
I know you havent made videos in awhile, but I just wanted to say this video specifically helped me nail hovering down. I pass it along to anyone who is getting into helos and having trouble. The airshow cone practice method helped immensely. Jusy wanted to say I appreciate your effort and hopefully you will be able to continue making videos in the future.
Great and informative video and tutorial, good job! If I had to critic something small - @2:22 the Rudder is a fixed Wing term, rather use the phrase Anti-torque / Anti-torque pedals. Cheers mate
My helicopter can never be as stable as in videos like this I see. In the hover it wobbles greatly in all axes. I am not sure if it has to do with the joystick settings or just a cheap joystick.
Wow. Just found this great tutorial. I'd given my zoom axis to find it when I started trying Huey in DCS. And I've just accidentally bumped into it just randomly. Well, it's well past time, but you, sir, still have my like and comment. Hope it helps.
I keep overcorrecting, but it's because the aircraft movement is so delayed that I don't get the feedback to my control inputs fast enough. I'm trying to make tiny corrections, but without any kind of force feedback, it's pretty difficult. Maybe I should get the pedals out and see if that helps.
does the collective just go up and down? or does it have a twist grip that adjusts something else? and are there any important buttons on a collective grip.
How is important having a good stick + extension to get smooth control of helis? I already own VBK T-rudder but sadly a cheap stick (T16000M), no throttle,
@@ArtManNL Negative. I don't use any curve changes or saturation. It's all just default. Throttle curves always mess me up. I prefer to know that it will always be a 1:1 ratio. For me it's easier to learn on - but just personal preference.
really excellent tutorial ... very toughtful to include the controls overlay, as it makes easier to understand what are your inputs. Perhaps you could also put links to download the helicopter skin and mission, so that we can practice your teachings on our own PCs, but anyway it is a very nice tutorial ... you've got a new subscriber :)
@@everythingdcsworld4936 thank you so much. I am having a hell of a time I cannot wait. I like how you explain what you have to do with each movement and the reaction it does.

By far the most informative Huey tutorial I've found thus far - great production.
I see this comment on every single Huey tutorial.
Just found this and it is a very, very good tutorial
He mentions having 2 reference points and *BOOM* it all came together for me! Thanks so much for making this.

good video wish you had kept at it your videos are very well done
Thank you, one of the best hovering tutorials !! IFor me, to do a good hovering on Huey is more difficult than a refuel in F18 hornet ^^

Haha, the cones even move due to prop wash. I just got the Huey and this is really helpful thanks

I bet it helped!

And then to add a little bit of a challenge to that, try adding in a little wind... say 10K
Superb ! Very helpful
This tutorial helps me a lot! Thanks ❤️
Dont' look at he turn indicator at a hover other than to see that it's operating properly. Look outside the rest of the time, head on a swivel.
Awesome. Where did you get the Working on Fire skin? I'd love to use it
That thumbnail drew me to this video. I've never seen it before.
very nice, good piloting

Awesome, I just got the Huey.
What does adding blades do, as in from 2 to 3 and so on?
Are there a good amount of firefighting and SAR missions for a single player focused Huey pilot?
Amazing video, pal. But, tell me... how to stay like that? (8:54 video time) Theres a key to press?
Oh, this is great!!!! Thank you! You get a subscription!
Very good tutorial. Can you please tell me what joystick you are using?
CH Combat Stick
@@tyler558806 Thank you very much. Did you change something on the profiles of the movement axis in the setup? Thanks for any help again.

Do you use rudder peddles?
Hello - can you tell me how you get the giant cones to train with?
Good video, Thank you.
In the misson editor, under static objects, airshow cones.
good stuff but air is never to dense to bounce around in a 205 trust me on that one !

Whoa, how do you add and remove the virtual controls indicator?
I really like the Grim Reapers tutorials because they make me laugh. But with yours I got to learn. Great video.
Nice video mate
Keep making these videos
9:07 where do youfind this in options?
Thank you. This helps.
Great work
Is this a default skin? If not, what's its name?
Amazing video
Thank you for this video!
Very good and explanatory vid. Thx. Would you share your miz file for that setup?
Wow just came across this! Awsome. Do you or could make a Video on landing. Just like your hovering.
I appreciate it. I'll be releasing a basic take-off and landing video in a few days.
