Sunrise Hike on Mount Sibayak, Sumatra, Indonesia

We spent a month on the Indonesian islands starting in North Sumatra. This video covers our climb without a guide of Mount Sibayak. It's not a long hike, only a few miles and isn't particularly steep so if you're a fairly confident hiker you should be ok to do it without a guide as well. We stayed in Berastagi and rented a scooter to drive to the trail head. The road there isn't too bad with only a few potholes. There is an entrance fee at the top of the road before you get onto the dirt path, I don't remember the amount but it isn't much. The path to the crater is well marked but always have a map with you! Hope you enjoy the video and can make it there one day yourself!
