I need help. I have a model (a character), which is in .fbx. when I try to load it in mixamo it gives me an error. Could I pass it on to you and try to fix it?
Bro I have a doubt . I have installed a lot of assets. It also includes assets that are not in the scene. Will the file size increase after i export this project?
Actually, Unity does a great job of reducing file size. I built a WebGL game for one of my clients and there were a ton of assets, artwork, animations, sound, and Unity crammed it all down to about 20mb. Ridiculously small.
Absolutely! It's just an FBX file. I used character from Mixamo, but you can grab a character or create your own character and add it into Mixamo if you want.
Hey Nick, all of this can be cut down pretty quick. Of course once you select and import, set up your materials that's all you'll need. It would be nice to just have a nice import tool in Unity for it.
Another fantastic video Jerry! Very well explained 🙌 😄 it's very hard to help your friends directly when you're working on your own game. But Sharing your videos has helped a lot of people! Thank you so much
Hey Andres, it's a matter of how you set up the materials. By default the materials are set up to be metallic. In the Material's inspector, change the Work Mode from Mettalic to Specular. Then you can also turn down the Metallic Map. Hopefully that gets you what you need.
I would've never figured out how to fix the materials on a character imported from Mixamo. Thanks, Jerry!
You're the best John!! It does seem like this would be a more straight forward import but at least there is a way.
@@BlizStudio you could probably do a short on how to fix the materials as well. very informative !!!

Thanks for the video! Is there a way to automate what you're doing during the first 9 minutes?

I'm following your instructions and my Unity is behaving completely different. This tutorial is not working for me.
Hey Lynn, hit me up on my discord, and let's see if I can help you figure out what the issue is. discord.gg/DgUdNDT7KU

Thanks Stratton!! It is tough. Worked on a new prototype yesterday but super early. It's VR so trying to see what I can do there.

@@BlizStudio You are welcome :)
Thank you!
You're welcome!
My character still looks shinny :S and I have no idea why, all of my importing materials was a little bit different but it still worked.
