Thank you very much for reminding me that sometimes the most frustrating problem has the simplest solution.

I was looking for a solution specific to this on a Packard Bell iMedia (similar to Acer) I was trying to upgrade to SSD. It would boot off the SSD once, then the next cold boot would show this error every time (reinstalling or re-cloning solved for first cold boot only and then this would happen on the 2nd cold boot, tried multiple SSDs and hours of other things; restarting was fine but not cold boots).
It always boots off the original HDD, thereafter will boot ONCE off anything else and next cold boot gives this error (even on bootable USBs). Seems to be a BIOS issues (yes I tried everything in BIOS including Secure Boot Off, no BIOS firmware updates available) - as if something would change after you boot off anything but the original hard drive preventing subsequent boots until you boot off the original HDD again. I eventually got around it by telling the BIOS to boot off the HDD and the BCD configured from the HDD set to boot off the SSD (had to keep the HDD in the PC for this to work). I couldn't find anything on the internet about this problem and it's a similar BIOS to this vid so I decided to post here.

I shut down my laptop for over a month then came back. This time it came up with the complete bios info. Hard drive showed too. I almost clicked to load default bios but your comment saved me. It said current settings will be lost. So I went straight and clicked exit, then my laptop came back.
