    The Rockingham Foreshore is a popular area with lots of grassed areas for picnics as well as a vibrant cafe strip. The beach has been voted on of the best in Western Australia.
    There is a variety of housing options to suit most budgets.
    We had lunch at the Imperial Indian Restaurant located on the Rockingham Foreshore which we filmed to give you a review on the food & service.

    We've lived in Rockingham for all of 3 months since immigrating from NZ. We are building in Upper Swan so we will stay here until we move north. In these 3 months, Rockingham has cast her spell on us and we are loving it, beautiful beaches, FANTASTIC dog friendly section where our Pug Daisy has literally taken over, well, she thinks so 😅. A few people have to me that Rockingham has a bad reputation, we'll, this is nothing compared to some part of Auckland, this is literally paradise. People are INCREDIBLY friendly and kind and SO relaxed. Towards the end of the clip you walked past Lulu's, this cafe is superb, ALWAYS busy and pumping, great coffee and huge portion size of good Oz food, dog friendly too. Thank you Rockingham, Western Australia for welcoming us in, we love this beautiful part of the world.

      Glad you're enjoying Rockingham. We thought it looked great as well. It's going to be a change going from Rockingham to Upper Swan - especially in summer time. You will miss the beach when the temperature soars. But Upper Swan is also a very nice area with its own charms.

    Ive got a rental in Rocko, and I live in the city of Swan, north east where I also have a rental. One thing I will say is that dealing with the city of Rockingham council is a breeze compared to dealing with Swan. Rockingham is onto to it with a professional attitude while Swan basically ignore all communications and requests, very unhelpful and blatantly lie and mislead. Swan does not appear to be interested in doing their job. I noticed that in Rocko even the council workers appear to be happy in their jobs and are polite and helpful. Complete difference in workplace cultures.

    • @vloggersontheloose
      @vloggersontheloose  5 месяцев назад

      Couldn't agree more! City of Swan workers are just there to collect a wage and not put in any work to earn it.

    • @vloggersontheloose

      It is an older suburb and the people probably want to retain that kind of vibe. People in Perth don't like change. The foreshore is a fantastic modern area. We are doing several suburbs within the City of Kwinana in the next month or so.

      There is a big council plan in place for Rockingham to be restructured, it is a suburb in the initial process of gentrification mainly because its one of the last coastal suburbs within reach of the city within a reasonable price range. Lots of migrants moving there now, particularly Filipinos and Indians. Still lots of crackheads around but that will change as rents rise. You wont recognise it in 10 years time. I wish I moved there 20 years ago.

    Love your videos. Which suburbs are popular with pomme migrants.? Could you maybe do some videos of suburbs popular with the English?

    • @chuckmaddison2924
      @chuckmaddison2924 6 месяцев назад

      Kelmscott Armidale were extremely popular in early 70's. Now Ocean Reef is big . Sell a flat in Farnham will get big house in the O R .
      Prince Andrew's fluff lives there.
      I hear.

    • @vloggersontheloose
      @vloggersontheloose  6 месяцев назад

      A lot of pomme migrants like the beach side suburbs so anything from Ocean Reef going north to Yanchep is where you will find them. We have done a few videos on these suburbs including Ocean Reef, Iluka, Burns Beach, Mindarie and Jindalee. We are planning on doing some more northern coastal suburbs.

      @ian7033-qj9wg History lesson.
      In WA there were 2 migrant hostels
      Graylands ( state sponsored) and Noalimba ( Federal sponsored).
      And a real estate company called Landall. The real estate company had exclusive rights to Noalimba ( in Bateman ) . They had a thing for the Kelmsott area and took a lot of migrants there. They had a lot of land there and also cheap. Probably figured someone selling a 3×1 2 story in UK for £ 6000
      Would be a good match for a 3×1 in Perth for $ 14000 .. I believe Karrinyup came in around $ 20000

    • @ian7033-qj9wg
      @ian7033-qj9wg 6 месяцев назад

      @@chuckmaddison2924 That doesnt show that Armadale and Kelmscott were extremely popular in the 70s. Anyone who lived in Perth then like myself knows that these areas were for people at the lowest end of the economic spectrum. Most of the new migrants ended up in subsidised housing areas like Medina, Balga, Girraween , koondoola. Even Medina only existed because it was basically built to specifically house migrant workers for the Kwinana industrial area. I think you need a history lesson mate. Those 2 areas have always been undesirable due to low socio economic conditions and relative distance inland from the city with zero industry, i.e. no jobs which is what migrants were coming here for, jobs..

      Thanks for your comment. We were just covering the actual suburb of Rockingham and not the City of Rockingham area which incorporates many different suburbs - you are correct that the population of the City of Rockingham is 143,000. The City of Rockingham is approx. 260 square kilometres and also includes Port Kennedy and Baldivis as well as many other suburbs.
