I feel quite priveledged and fortunate to have seen her in both RENT & Wicked. She's one of the best! Idina is like the love child of Barbra Streisand & Andrew Lloyd Weber or something along those lines. She just interprets characters beautifully as an actress, but then she opens her mouth, starts singing, and blows you away all over again!
@mswixx12 I actually went and saw it again a few months later. (Actors guild membership) The performers were crying during the performance and afterwards lined up on stage. Each talked about their memories of Jonathan Larson and what it meant for them to be in the show and on actual Broadway. I had to catch up during the show and only really had the whole story at the end. I haven't seen Wicked (in person) yet.. I plan on going this year after I bring my five year old to see Lion King.
@mswixx12 Wow, a person who is polite when they respond. Thank you. There is no accounting for taste. Some people love chocolate. Some people love liver. I have some Jamaicans that work for me that hate show tunes. I like most of there music except this strange angry rap with lots of pan banging. People grow up differently and love different things. Lets hope that someone that misses out on the magic that is Idina has something as special to love.
@mswixx12 I never saw a movie critic get an Oscar. I never saw a music critic get a grammy. Why does someone have to achieve the highest accomplishments in theater before they can have an opinion, even if its a poor opinion?
luuuurve this gurl

@mswixx12 In the 90's I saw her perform opening week in RENT. I had no idea what I was walking into.
