Cool video buddy, but I think for a basic introduction to guitars maybe lose the background music to make it easier to hear what you’re doing, especially when you were restringing.
What do you mean by "take some wood to the body"...? or "put a little bit slimmer/thinner the arm"...? I have no idea what that first one is all about, since "takes some wood to the body" makes no sense... but on the second question - if you mean put a thinner diameter tremolo bar on the guitar, the answer is no, you can't. The tremolo arm has to fit the tremolo plate mounting hole. If you put a thinner one on it, the bar will just fall out, or swing around uncontrollably while you're playing. It has to be the right size for the mounting hole. Then there's usually a tension adjustment screw that can be tightened to the bar stays in place, and adjusted to your preference so you can easily grab it when needed and pushed out of the way again. You won't have any control if the bar is too thin. You have to use the tremolo bar that is made for the tremolo plate.
With mine, all the inner cables are black. With the single coil pickups, I've noticed one magnet has a white surface and the other black? It's a 112 from around 2000. Will it make a huge difference if they are accidentally swapped.. They are both around the same length
@@Mikes-tuts-rev Thanks. I wondered about it, given some guides recommend to test the resistance of each pickup to find the correct position. The only other alt guide mentioned the middle pickup should magnetically attract the two closest by, which in the 112's case should mean the middle pickup attracts the pickup closest to it from the humbucker, and the neck pickup.
Just bought my first guitar .. a yamaha pacifica ... cheers for this
thanks for the vid, will help me do my first full setup myself.
Great video...thanks Mike! Lots of good info.
Many thanks bud. Glad my efforts are of use to others.

I suppose it could have done without the music... Indeed
What does it cost average for a guitar center to replace the volume switch on a Yamaha Pacifica?? Thanks
So, what was "the appropriate Allen key" (2:45)...? 4mm...?
My Pacifica 612 came with a 4mm for the truss rod, a 2mm for tone/volume knob set screws, and a 1.5mm for bridge adjustment.
Very great tutorial sir ❤️
I like this guitar. Can I take some wood to the body, and put a little bit slimer/thinner the arm? Many thanks.

Bom dia,
eu desmontei a minha e o captador Humbucker era da G&B. Será que são originais da YAMAHA PAC 012?
Hi Mike, thanks for the video. My pacifica wont tune in to all chords. Top E and B always bit ropey. Any ideas please?
Howdi, could be many things, nut, old strings, saddles, bad trem springs. Hard to pin it down easily
@@Mikes-tuts-rev Really appreciate your reply, thanks
Where is the batter in this thing
Man, I gotta get me one of those 3D printer thingies, lol. Nice concise vid.

Hi, no it wont make a difference, but sometimes the string spacing poles are different between neck and bridge.
