After some gnarly riding in Tennessee all by my lonesome, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and purchase some crash bars! I haven't gone down yet, but that doesn't really mean anything.
I wasn't sure how I was going to like these, but I have to say I'm impressed. The quality is really great. The welds look wonderful, the hardware that came with seemed like it was of decent quality. I think I'd trust these to protect the bike well should I go down. And, I really like the way that the gloss black accents the fork lowers and other black parts of the bike.
    PROS:
    -Good Welds
    -Easy Assembly and Install
    -Good Price
-Protects the rear brake lever and shift lever as well.
    CONS:
    -It's heavy....but it's a crash bar so it's supposed to be, I guess?
-The hardware is good, but I had to mix and match stock bolts with aftermarket hardware
-I wear size 12 boots, and depeding on my foot position I will sometimes contact the crash bar when upshifting...It doesn't affect anything but it's something to be aware of!
All in all, I'd definitely buy it again.

Thank you. Those look GREAT! I got the engine guards that attach directly to the pre-existing bike guards, ( mine don't look as cool as yours). I finally got the highway pegs so, I installed them and absolutely LOVE the set up! I ride a lot on two lane paved roads in the mountains where I live so, having another place to rest your feet is paramount for comfort. Love your video, Rev.

Oh awesome! I've thought about getting highway pegs! Glad to hear you found a suitable solution!

Looks like a good engine guard. The front cross member is high enough to prevent the front fender to hit the engine guard. My cheaper aftermarket engine guard does hit the fender occasionally!

Right on! I think as long as you have some you’re good, but these are definitely sturdy!

Is your crash bar version 1 or 2? My version 2!doesn’t seem to need the 2 OEM black plastic spacers…..?

Hey, I’m not sure which version it is. The description on WeBike Japan doesn’t specify but it’s this crash bar:

@@OffRoadRodeo okay, looks like the first version. I got mine for BeezDeals and it says “v2” Mine has brackets on the bottom that connect to the frame and skid guard, as well as, brackets up top that connect to that metal bracket that connects to the frame. Entirely getting rid of the black plastic pieces the OEM and your engine guard slide into. Also, beezdeals doesn’t offer gloss black, only flat black.

Would you mind measuring across and how much wider it makes it? I’m curious if this will hit my bumper with my haul master hitch carrier.

      @OffRoadRodeo  2 года назад +1

At the widest point it’s about 23”, or around the same as the outside of the foot pegs. It doesn’t go any further out than that.
