The fact is that, had British not invaded and colonised India there would not be a country named India today. When British colonised the region it was scattered into many kingdoms. British unified the land unintentionally. There is absolutely no chance that India would ever be a single country like it is today if British did not invade. There is still a huge fraction among the Indians, people from South don't even want to speak in Hindi even if they know the language. People from the North East often face racism in other parts of India. I have met many Indians from Gujrat, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, West Bengal, North East and all of them actually don't like each others and don't want to associate with each other. Infact their cultures and languages are miles apart too. British were the common enemy back then which is why they all had to come together to fight the common enemy. This narrative that Nepal have similar culture to India is bullshit. Well, recently let's say in the past 2-3 decades Nepalese people has been heavily influenced by Bollywood and Hindi channels which is why people are now adopting Indian costumes like Lehenga and sherwani, events like Mehendi rasm etc are now being practiced by so called Nepalese celebrities and normal people are copying that which is sad. Nepal itself is so diverse in culture and language. When this interviewee says 'Nepali culture and language is similar to India' he needs to understand that Nepal has 125 languages. He is doing a bad representation of Nepal. What are the similarities between Rai culture and Indian culture? Tamang culture and Indian culture? Newar? Sherpa? Jirel? Limbu? Khas? Gurung? Magar? What similarities?

  • @prasannadhoj
    @prasannadhoj 5 дней назад +3

Very true , India has the upper hand with its cultural or religious similarities. And also between the treaty against the social/religious/language similarities. It could be Nepal's misfortune or fortune. Nepal has so many strong ties with India, no matter how much the young Nepalese show differences with India, "It is a necessary evil to be with India". It depends upon Indian political rulers how they view Nepal as. How much to control or give freedom, respect or .... Nepal can never be free as a separate and developed country and have things of its own , do things on its own. So many Indians think that Nepal is part of India, because think that they don't need a visa to travel. I guess India views Nepal is just like any other Indian state. The only difference is a Nepal has a different flag or money or language and the international community recognizes it as a country with borders. As the population of India grows, Indians are in and out and settling in Nepal for business or pilgrimage purposes. See South Asia, Pakistan and Bangladesh once both were in the Mahabharat region were the output of (post-British Empire), now both needs visa to travel those lands once upon time they were no borders. Although Nepal was not part of Greater India at that time, we don't need visa to travel now and forever. Western world want India to play Democratic big brother (and its easy this way) to keep away the socialist ideology to reach Nepal. Nepal can never ever ignore India, never. Just my opinion.

Major Stockholm Syndrome on this man. I couldn't imagine singing the praises of a state that has historically looked down on us and imposed unwarranted sanctions on a neutral state. Nepali and indian culture is definitely not the same. He points out that difference in words although they may be homophones have different meanings, and then forgets that everything we celebrate here is called differently in india. Forced cultural colonization from a former colony is what I see here.

exactely, this man thinks india have a similar culture and language as whole country, and ignores that it a combination of diffrent ethincity culture not just baidik arya. inside india there are so much diffrenxe between hindu communit and belfis for example bihar and bengali, bengali and marathi, rajasthani and punjabi, all have diffrent culture and language despite being in one countery. similar like that we might have hindu religion but have completely diffrent style of hinduism only those banarasi bahun who migated to Nepal in 12th century have similar culture with baidik arya hindu

Each and every neighboring nation harbors fear of another neighboring nation.
      All over the world.
That would have included countries like france and germany too, for example, who have clear cut boundaries. But this is a historic issue for wars between any nation. Not an exclusive national issue.
      Each and every country.
Some people/organisations fuel this to divide and rule. But the seed of the problem is in nationalism itself. So long as a country remains a country, it will see the other as another and thus the issue.
This is an astute understanding. Abolish the concept of nation and patriotic extremism shall dissappear. Very oxymoron but very high IQ. Or there is another method. Look at our case scenario above.
So what prevented war between germany and france after ww2? Media quiescence?
      Nope.
Answer: Military alliance. And what caused war between two completely genetic brotherly country like rus and ykr?
      Lack of military alliance.
      Any other examples:
      Yes.
Even with border issues, turkey vs greece (cyprus), or british uk and spain (gibralter) do not have war?
      Why?
      Military alliance.
So now I want to hear from you and people like you who have a sort of gut apprehension.
Let's consider a more matured approach to geopolitical issues?

      Difficult to say concretely.
Why? As the vedic teachings were mostly orated and handed over from generation to generation, before they started writing it down.
Origins of the written records have their own debate.
Some are also researching on the astronomical descriptions within the vedas and trying to decode it to estimate the time frame.
For civilizational evidence and genealogical evidences, think get complicated as mostly cremation was carried out.
Also, civilizations can be hidden and lost forever over the years. Good examples for these are the finding and un-earthing of Buddha's birth place and Kichak Badh.
I'm also interested to know what the texts taken back to China by Xuanzang actually contain.
We have to understand that many forms of various "religions" co-existed and they most certainly had influences on one another.
