After two years of planning and waiting for the right moment, I was finally able to capture a flash flood front wall from the air. Enjoy!

As a bit of an amateur photo/video nut and full fledged geek, I know what it's like to plan for shots; especially a specific time lapse you really want.
Fantastic video! Great angles and panning, choice locations and timing. Good stuff all around! Thanks for creating this scientific gem of video photography. :-)

Spectacular!!!! Especially 2:55-3:15 where you can see the puddles vibrating as the mass of water approaches!!! Well done! In some of the last part of the video it looks as if you have the drone sitting on the ground with it approaching!

I love the sound. It is like the thunder in the sky was saved by the rain so that the rain could make that sound as it travels over land like a great water snake. So amazing to watch and hear.

    Brilliant capture, David!
I momentarily forgot this was drone footage, & thought you were in dry riverbed, at the beginning. This was sick (as the kids say).
I remember first moving to Sedona, Arizona, USA, & being totally clueless about monsoons, flash floods, & low water crossings.
I went on a solo backpacking trip, and I slept in a ravine one night.
Yes, until one sees something like this, it's hard to fathom the suddenness & destructive powers of FF.
    Cheers!

Good Video DR, in these scenarios the drones are great they don't bother anything or anybody and they are not a danger to the public.

Wow I really like the drone footage. A lot better angles and perspective than a handheld. .
I was wondering, do you make a profit selling your footage, to news stations and the like? or do you not make a profit in the end but still make a reasonable amount? Or is almost completely a hobby type thing? I understand if it's too intrusive of a question and you don't want to answer.

      James Caswell Thanks James.
Perfectly okay question. I make profit leasing to for profit video productions. Usually science shows on discovery, weather, ect. :)

Excellent! I guess my own drone purchase will be set back even further, while I divert some funds into a nice aftermarket stubby winch bumper for "WILBUNZ" the Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. Glad you were around to give kindly give us a little tug to get us on our way again a few nights ago. Knew I should have been in the Power Wagon, with the odd mushy flows crossing the trails that seem to have no solid foundation. But, we wanted to put the top down for a panoramic view of the evening sky with dinner while waiting for the flow to arrive. Really enjoyed chatting.. and the offer still stands; You have my cell: I will gladly return the favor 24/7 - any day or night of the week! Or shoot me a call next time, BEFOER you head out. Much easier to find you that way. That is, if you don't mind some good "time killing" conversation while you wait to work your magic. Jay - /Brakelate/
