  • French voters will be heading to the polls on Sunday.
    And many migrants and refugees living in France are worried about their future, if the far-right wins control of Parliament. The National Rally has focussed its campaign on immigration calling it a threat to French culture and values

    If you're not distinguishing between legal and illegal immigration, your piece isn't intellectually honest. They're two fundamentally different things.

    • @CB-zb7ik
      @CB-zb7ik 7 дней назад +1

      Legal and illegal migration has the same root of people moving to try to obtain a better or more stable life. Large flows of illegal and legal migration that we see are driven by labour demands on the one hand and large disparities between nations which is the result of centuries of exploitation from the now developed nations.
      Fundamentally they are the same except that illegal migrants do not have the education/skills to apply legally.

    I'm not French, I am for emigration and immigration. But for all the immigrants, what is the solution for your home country? Let it fall and dissolve into a nationless state? I'm thoroughly confused as neither side of the political bird ever has a solution for this. What does the world do to the countries/factions that are so bad that mass emigration happens? In theory, the end is just what I described where eventually everyone leaves and the oppressor win, that can't clearly work, we can't have fascism/authoritarianism forcing everyone to leave everywhere, I think the world tried that 1000x over. This is a simplification of global politics, what is the solution though? Many regions around the world are constantly unstable, almost all, including the big countries that seem to get left out of this conversation.

      They risk their lives to get to "a better place" like France. Why not risk it all to create a better place for their children and grandchildren in their own country? And why want to go to "better places" like France if they will then dislike how their new country prohibits them from doing this or that, is "racist" or "discriminates" them?

    • @muhammad-bin-american
      @muhammad-bin-american 7 дней назад

      You're missing the point. France and the West contributed a great deal to the global mass migration issue. From totally unfair trade practices (globalization) to climate change. Then there is France's systematic looting of their former colonies in West Africa. Even the West's handing of billions to corrupt African dictators is a form of wealth transfer because almost all that money end up in western banks and economies. British NGO Oxfam did the math and reported that it is Africa that is actually subsidizing western economies. Far more money leave Africa every years heading to western economies (including France) that go to the opposite direction. So yes it would be nice for things to improve for the better in Africa and other places but I don't think that's in the interest of the West. Oh I forgot to mention the Iraq war and its effect. The 2003 illegal invasion of Iraq distabilized the region and beyond. Many of these immigrants come from those countries. So westerners are no saints in this.

      @@edb3255 None of that answered my questions. Who is to say one place is "better" I can make arguments that any place with a government is not a functional place. France is one of the most racist and bigoted countries in all of the world let alone Europe. For humans who operate culturally, totally different than those who live there, no one could possibly think that would ever work. No one could logically think that.
      But almost every European country thought that way, and now almost all are going back on thinking that way. What was the point of all of that, that experiment on populations? If the crazy, most of the time, fascist regimes around the world, or religiously motivated groups suppress individuals, what is the solution to them? We cannot keep having groups of people FORCEFULLY REMOVED FROM LAND.
      Colonization needs to end. That's the solution my friend. As someone who has watched this for far too long occur I am getting tired of the same old song and dance.

    This reminds me of "The story of the snake."
    A kind-hearted woman was walking down a road when she stumbled upon a wounded snake. Feeling compassion for the creature, she decided to take it home and care for it. She nursed the snake back to health, tending to its wounds and ensuring its comfort.
    However, as soon as the snake had recovered, it turned on her and bit her. The woman, shocked and dying from the venom, asked the snake why it had betrayed her. With a sinister grin, the snake replied, "You knew I was a snake from the start. You ignored the risks and took me in regardless. So don't act surprised now."

    Funny how people from the less civilized part of the world believe they have a Right to go to Europe because at one time Europe colonized a few places. If that is the standard, than wasn't Europe right to colonize those places since the Moors invaded and colonized Spain? and the Turks invaded/colonized southeast Europe all the way to Austria; the Mongols invaded all the way to Poland; for centuries European slaves (as far as Iceland) were captured by North Africans, starting before colonization by Europeans began and lasting until the 19th century (remnants of these slave-raids lasted into the 20th century).

      The fertility rate of native French population is still low, the fertility rate is high for the foreign illegal and criminal migrants who are not French and don't want to be assimilated into the French culture and population. By your logic the land of Palestine/Israel has a high fertility rate because of Israeli Jews?
