Removing the LPG system on the E46 330i

  • One of the many things this car needs to get done is the removal of the LPG system. It wasn't that hard of a job but it needed to get done.
    Overall the system is pretty easy the only major thing that needed to happen is swap the manifold. I was pretty surprised with how much stuff is under there compared to the E36. Luckily it's all good now and the car is running fine.

    Change those coolant connekting peace to one with curbs on it. With those what you insstal it will blow it apart when engine got hot

    Interesting. Never seen one of these in the US, I’m sure they probably exist tho. I assume it supplements the gasoline. Making progress!

      it run on autogas (LPG) instead of petrol.

      yeah we dont use that in the states. its a separate tank for a mix fo butane and propane if i remember correctly, and theres systems that have your regular injectors supplement the LPG system in higher rpm, and some systems that dont need the help. since LPG is half the price per Litre... it makes sense.

    Waarom een nieuwe manifold? Was het niet mogelijk om in de oude de gaten van de injectors dicht te maken?

    why would you remove this? LPG is half price motoring 🤔

      The road tax is a lot more with the lpg

      @@TJS36 wow that is mad, here in the UK it would be the same or cheaper tax. I hate tax !!!

    I remove my lpg kit today but it wont start the car..i reconnect the main gas ecu box under the hood..but its not the same as before i remove..the car starts but above 1000rpm..the car trembles and as if the car going to turn off..what can be the issue ??

    Have you considered swapping to an M50 intake manifold?

    Were there any hose/lpg lines under the car ?

      Yes, as the tank was in the rear

      @@TJS36 Were they screwed to the chassis or ziptied ? It kind of bothers me how the car’s body is all drilled hahah
