  • I was driving from Tours to Oradour-sur-Glane using the gps in my rental car. When I was about 7 miles from Oradour, it led me down a narrow paved road, which soon became a narrow dirt road, which then became a very narrow dirt road. I had to eventually turn around. It was no problem because I had some great music to listen to. I still made it back in time that night to see Alizée win the French version of Dancing with the Stars.

Haha, i've been in same situation in Poland. I realized something is wrong when i ended in turning into dirt road into the forest. Wasted 3 hours because of that.

Well the scenery was so beautiful, being led astray didn't bother me at all. On the way back, I had a nice conversation with that woman I passed by and she gave me directions back, but that wasn't necessary, after all, I had gps!

And the lesson is, do not be led down dirt roads by satnav. Hope you got back to the D675 & D9-D3 ok and the martyr village of Oradour-sur-Glane is worth the effort of the journey.
