      Still looking good 5 months later? That's the thing I'm concerned about but with how easy it is, I guess it's not that big of a deal to keep re-doing, if it comes back.

      @berniebernhardt1898 Год назад +1

      @@hhaste Funny you mention that. I just was looking at my headlights a couple of days ago, and they're fogging up a little bit again, but still look way better than they did before I hit it with the compound. Considering it only took 10-15 minutes to do both headlights, I'd still say it's a win.

    It worked fine on my 23 year old headlights. Followed the instructions exactly and went through all the steps. Very effective. Be aware there are two different kits available, one including lubricant and more pads, which is what I used. There's also a "quick" kit with a two-sided pad and lacking the lubricant (you use water instead). Good product from turtle Wax.

    I got the new 2022 kit. They skipped the spray lubricant (you just use water) and 1 sanding disk, but it still did a phenomenal job. I would recommend using the #1 sanding step a second time until no more yellow stuff comes of your headlight. I found only 1 pass did leave quite some dirt on the headlight. Then follow-up with the #2 sanding pass.

    My recommendation would be
    1: clean the headlight,
    2: tape necessary surrounding area,
    3: use solution and pads 1-4,
    4: use buffing cream,
    5: finish off with bouth wipes,
    Well that's what I did to save time.

      @@timmywashere1164 For my case, the optional steps was the right choose, and I just don't do what instructions tells you. And that's how you save time. My wife bought this kit. I laughed.
    I had used a 3m kit that required a sanding disc and hours of work per car for both our cars. So how can this kit work as well as that? Well, it does, but it it better because it requires so much less work.
    How does it do what the 3m kit does? Chemicals? voodoo... not sure, but I was surprised. The lens clarifying compound I thought was just a vary fine polishing compound but it seams to actually dissolve the cloudy outside part of the lens and not just remove it via polishing because it takes like 5 minutes to do this. I simply used a paper towel triple folded and whetted with the clarifying compound, made sure I spread it over the entire lens and then rubbed it in until the wetness evaporated and it started to remove the compound and then the lens simply became clear. Yap, just as simple as that. Cloudiness GONE.... MAGIC? yup..haha.
    The 3M kit, I was using 3 levels of polishing for like, an hour. So how does 5 minutes of rubbing this clarifying compound from this kit equal more then an hour of work with a drill and sand paper? Well that is the part where I was surprised.... uh, well truthfully, I was shocked and amazed... yup.
    One thing I can say, I am curious if the protectant will in fact protect my headlights from getting cloudy again. If that does happen, I will re-use what is left from this kit then apply a spray clear coat with UV protectant.
    BOTTOM LINE: I do fully recommend this kit, it works. Just follow the directions.

    I use a blue kitchen scotch scratch (blue does not scratch plastic in the kitchen Ex. microwave controls, the green scratch does scratch/scars plastic) and Meguiars Restore & Polish which did an amazing job. I was still not satisfied, so used the blue scratch pad and wet baking soda - which took another layer of the oxidated yellow scum off. I did use Meguiars polish to try and protect it for 6 months.
