    A clapper is another one, works so well to set seams.

      What is a clapper?

    • @lynnshepard7485

      @@cindyl7469 A clapper is a long, oval wooden tool that you “clap” onto ironed or pressed seams. Using this tool provides really flat seams. I have 2 different sizes. I love them!

      @SparkyOne549 Год назад

      @@cindyl7469 It’s a heavy piece of wood rectangle shape that you use immediately after pressing to set a seam, or a fold. It dissipates the heat into the wood, and creates a crisp solid fold, much better than an iron can do on its own.

    For garment sewers I recommend a tailor's panto-graph for buttonhole and button spacing everyone needs a tailor's clapper.

      Yes those LED light strips I have some as well. Because almost no machine on the market comes with decent lighting

    I was really hoping to see something I don’t already have… I have both the small and drapery sized hem gauges. I love them! I guess I don’t need to buy anything else right now. My husband will be happy 🤣🤣🤣.

    The needle puller is new to me. I will have to look for one of those! My Bernina came with a "height adjustment tool" which is in effect an adjustable hump jumper. It is so handy for those lumpy spots.

      I need a needle pulled. I’m glad to learn of it.

      Many hump jumpers are included with sewing machine feet, but not referred to under that name. They will often call them a needle inserted. It’s a hump jumper with a hole, which holds the sewing machine needle in place while tightening the screw. Very handy!

  • @dcwatashi

    You forgot a very important feature on that hump jumper. That tiny hole is what you used to help you insert your needle into your machine

    To add to the list- A pattern notcher! You can find them for a variety of prices but I’ve seen them sold for as low as $5. It’s literally just a rectangular hole punch, nothing fancy. It’s so so useful for when you have a paper pattern that’s too opaque to see the registration marks through to the other side. When you clip into the notches, you know exactly where your notches go when the pattern is flipped. It’s a very specialized tool and not exactly necessary but I can’t live without mine now

    Purely by coincidence, I have a button hole tool set in my Amazon cart right now. I was watching a garment sewing video a few days ago and realized that I didn't have this item in my sewing arsenal and would soon be needing one. I like the needle grabber and will be looking for one of those also. Thanks for another great video!

    Great list of additional tools we need in our arsenal! I, personally, need to add the buttonhole cutter. Thank you, Professor Pincushion 😊

      Check your accessories. I have a Singer Quantum 9960 that I purchased for about $300 a few years ago and it came with the hump jumper.
      Also she forgot to mention that the little hole that you see on it where you put your needle through to help you insert it into your machine
