The modification tag says "Fuel Clips" so there was some sort of campaign for fuel clips probably due to some sort of leak issue or concern. These 1980 to 1986 trucks are often called the "Bullnose" style. We got the VIN, we win: 2FT for Canadian made Ford truck, E for 6,001 to 7,000 # Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, F15 for F-150 with 2WD, N for 5.0L (302 CID) V8 with EFI, aka "It's Getting Better Now", 2 is a check digit, G for the 1986 model year, C for Ontario Truck, Ontario Canada assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Oakville Truck plant operated from 1965 to 2004 and is now part of today's Oakville Assembly plant still operated by Ford as of this writing. We got the tag, we can brag: 133 for the truck's wheelbase in inches, 51 for Medium Fire Red lower exterior paint (also known as Dark Canyon Metallic in some years) and code 9M White upper exterior paint, possible F185 (hard to read) for F-150 2WD, KD4 for Red interior trim, T for Ford four speed automatic transmission with overdrive, AOD, aka "Clunky and Junky", 19 for 3.55:1 rear axle ratio, non-locking, 3 for Bittersweet and Silver tape stripe, and B and D are spring codes used to reference parts lists in the parts books for replacement parts and 41 for Chicago, IL sales district aka "They Call Me the Breeze". The Ford AOD transmission was a clunky and junky troublemaker and a terrible transmission. Adding EFI (ala Bosch in many cases) to these engines made them a lot better off as Ford's carburetion is complete crap. Their ignition systems are just as bad. Leer is still business and still makes truck caps.
Cool ,,alot of good parts left on that one 👍👍
Sure is
Always liked those bull nose trucks !
It would be cool if it wasn't rusted out.
Always liked that body style Nathan 😎👍
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE It was a good looking truck before it rotted away.
Take off, Hozer!
@@THEMOFODRIVER. This one isn't taking off again 😂
I sure was hoping it had a carb on it. Just found a hole in the primary bowl on mine for the 460
@@HammerWrench Do you need a carb? I could ask a friend of mine.
@ well, I have found 2 stripped screw holes and a hole in the primary bowl. Got an eBay replacement coming. If it doesnt work, I’ll be on the hunt.
Email me if that one doesn't work
@@NathansMoparGarage I appreciate the offer. I’m no carb guy and it shows in my video that’s uploading now. But I am willing to learn!
@HammerWrench They are pretty easy as long as you follow all the adjustment instructions and get everything clean
