I just started with this art form and I am hooked. Spruced up a jean jacket with patches and lace and made a very Japanese style long vest using patches and embroiderd circles then added some bead work. Now I am starting a quilt. It is sooooo relaxing.

Absolutely stunning. So much patience and meticulous planning went in that piece of art - yes, I know it's a jacket, but really, I consider it a piece of art. You're the Master.
I can only agree and like all the comments I am reading....art, beauty, patience, hard work, creativity, etc. Fantastic wearable textile art!! Many thanks for sharing your process - I am stunned!! ☺👏🏾... I particularly liked the aging with the woodworking file! Bravo!! ☺👏🏾
I notice that the way Japanese hand sewing is done - is somewhat different from the "American style' in, say, quilting. I think this is in fact the 'boro style' stitch. I am watching this carefully, because altho' I'm a capable seamstress, this one's a new skill I would do well to learn. In order to expand my own work. Many thanks and cheers from New Orleans.
I love your amazing Haiori jacket! Your artistry is superb and your traditional design is so inspiring. I enjoy watching you create every piece with such detail! Sugoi !
Thank you so much for sharing your post. The love have for your work made it feel like a spiritual quest. It was very calming to watch you work, and a great privilege. Again thankyou
Watching you make this coat is beautiful and truly masterful! I'm curious about your sewing machine. Is it a special machine that does the sashiko style stitching, or is it a presser foot?
Marvelous! I lived in LA for 35 years in the Monterey Park! Small world! Holiday wishes to you all! Merry Christmas! Now retired and lived in the East Coast of Taiwan, a small rice town called the Yuli, population less than 10,000 farmers! Great wishes in year of 2021! Year of cow!
Oh my word...! I have only just discovered your wonderful work. I have been mesmerised watching such skill and talent and art come together. Utterly magnificent!
I am always totally mesmerized by your meticulous process, patience and incredible artistry and skill. I would love to learn how to make garments like this, as I want to keep material out of the landfill and at the same time create one of a kind pieces. I notice that you have very specific machines that you use. Do you think this type of garment can be made on a home sewing machine, if lighter fabric is used? Can you recommend a place where I can review the type of machine(s) you use? And lastly, do you know of someone in North America who is offering either in person or online classes featuring this type of craft? Thank you so much for providing "zen sewing" for me.
Just discovered your video and your work is fantastic. Can you tell me if you use crochet cotton for the fancy stitches if not what and can I get it in the UK. Many thanks
I watched, most of your videos, it’s simply, magnificent both the result and at the same time the way of doing we see how much, it is important that the mind is present in the work when we see you work you are a real example thank you very much In addition, it is extremely meditative to hear only these needle scissors machine sounds. Thank you very much again Out of curiosity, what do you use as Wire to make it thick enough and resistant? And the scissors you have are beautiful, a Japanese brand?
Please tell me you priced that high… $$$ cause you spent a lot of time and it’s amazing!❤ at the beginning I was thinking to myself that there should be music playing in the background but throughout the video I liked hearing all the natural sounds of everything happening.
I could watch your videos all day. Your work is amazing and so creative in every sense of the word. I'm also fascinated by the stitching, what kind of machine is it?
even just to watch this was so enjoyable. first i noticed the sounds were calming for me. can you tell about this machine, was all stitching done on one? which thread was used? want to make something similar to this idea, but only household type of machine...

I love your work. Do you cut each rectangle and square from both the base and fashion fabric with seam allowance to assemble the final result? Or do you just leave seam allowance on base fabrics I have a hard time seeing that.
Stunning ad fascinating watching a Master at work. I admire your patience. I would love to do what you do but I just do not have that level of patience or neatness, although I have done simillar stuff but in a much more peasant style. Thanks for sharing. I have subscribed so I can watch you at work again. 😀
Hello, would anyone be able to help me figure out what this incredibly talented artist is using as weights? I feel like they are some sort of car/machine part? Please, if anyone could give me a hint, I would very much appreciate the help. Regards Miguel Angel.
This is crazy never seen workmanship like this recorded before did you print you Garment tags on a big sheet of fabric ? I never seen this done before how is that possible
Hope you may do a documentary on all those tools and machines behind you on how you used them for what purpose, shared with us - global viewers! Thank you! Happy Summer 2021!
Your work is beautiful. I wonder if you could tell me where you buy the needles for your saddle stitch machine and what type of thread you use? I own a vintage Union Special 100X saddle stitch machine and I can't find the needles anywhere. Thanks.
Thank you very much for watching! I use 100% cotton thread natural color text 105 from company called A&E. For needles, I think you should ask your machine specialist!
do you have a pattern for this coat? how do you make sure all those squares you cut out "fit" the coat, like what if you do the sashiko sowing and then realise you have to cut a square up? i hope this question makes sense... i guess what im asking is if all your squares are cut up to a certain size based of a pattern...
Thank you very much for watching my video! Yes I do make pattern for this coat to make sure placement of those patches are right, but you do not have to do this way to make boro patchwork style though. Take care and have a nice weekend!
What is that machine you use? The one with the double needle that creates that small sashiko like stitch on the back and the long chain on the other side? I love your work

What sort of needle / sewing setting is being employed around 11:40 timestamp in the video. Looking to add this effect to a project! Thanks
Watching you make this coat is beautiful and truly masterful! I'm curious about your sewing machine. Is it a special machine that does the sashiko style stitching, or is it a presser foot?
It looks like a chain stitch machine. I’ve seen old historic sewing machines that made chain stitch, but not modern ones.
this is a saddle stitch machine
