I just started with this art form and I am hooked. Spruced up a jean jacket with patches and lace and made a very Japanese style long vest using patches and embroiderd circles then added some bead work. Now I am starting a quilt. It is sooooo relaxing.
Absolutely stunning. So much patience and meticulous planning went in that piece of art - yes, I know it's a jacket, but really, I consider it a piece of art. You're the Master.

I notice that the way Japanese hand sewing is done - is somewhat different from the "American style' in, say, quilting. I think this is in fact the 'boro style' stitch. I love your work. Do you cut each rectangle and square from both the base and fashion fabric with seam allowance to assemble the final result? Or do you just leave seam allowance on base fabrics I have a hard time seeing that.

It looks like a chain stitch machine. I’ve seen old historic sewing machines that made chain stitch, but not modern ones.
