Hey Queens!! Hope you enjoy todays video, these are always so fun to make!! Wanted to share a great explanation of a designer dupe vs a replica below! I’ve seen a few people on social media call replicas dupes and they are very different. Hope this helps☺️
“Dupes give off the same vibe as a designer item but it's easy to tell that it's not. Dupes are also sold at popular retail sites like H&M, Forever 21, Zara, etc., and generally, are not illegal. A counterfeit or “fake” is an item that copies trademarked details and logos to pass itself off as the real thing.”

Wow. This is spot on Jenee! I have the Steve Madden dad sandals and I love them soooo much, with no desire to go to the designer price. I also ran down to check for Mach & Mach (jury's still out) and Cult Gaia sparkly dupes and you are so right about the bag from Amazon. There's been a couple sitting in my cart all week! Loved this video!! I can always appreciate a good dupe. I tend to gravitate toward luxury items that are timeless and always in style (or align with my personal style). If there’s a trendy item I really want to try, I’ll probably go dupe. It’s definitely about cost per wear for me!

I love this series, and my favorite dupe was the Zara tote it is so pretty!
You should see Walmart's book tote dupes, they're insane. That Staud bag makes me laugh, I would deffo get the dupe of that. I like to mix and match designer with dupe and I only buy designer if I am insane in love with it or I know I may sell it down the road. I tend to buy dupes for quirkier designer items, like the Dionysus Gucci bag, I loved at the time, but glad I only invested in a dupe, because it looks weird to me now.

Really love this series so thank you! I do think it’s worth noting that when it comes to trendy items which most of these items are- one really needs to have a serious heart-to-heart w oneself. Do you really want to spend a ton (granted, that’s relative) on ANYthing that’s very trendy?
Great comparisons! My vote is for the dupes as well unless you have the money to pay for designer. The only way that I would pay for a designer item , if I had the money, would be if the quality or design feature was substantially better and the dupe was drastically sub par.

This is a great series. I love the Amazon dupe for the sparkly Cult Gaia bag the best. I was in London and saw those sparkly bags for 300+ pounds and almost screamed (the conversion = pricier in USD). It's such a fun, silly little bag but I can't imagine paying hundreds for something where the sparkles will fall off at some point. lol.
Great series, I play the dupe game for fun to try out a trend. That's how I discovered that I do not like the Balenciaga hourglass bag. This is a great video concept I love it.

My Stuart Weitzman Lift Zoe (Dad Sandals) look similar to the Chanel Tweed Dad Sandals (#8) in your Chanel photo of Dad Sandals. I bought the Zoe ones last year during the pre-Christmas specials for about $100 less than the regular price of $395. They are incredibly comfortable. I had them on again today. Plus, I also wore them through the winter and spring seasons. Now, they are on sale for less than $150. and some places even in the $120. range. Well worth even the original price. And they're very sturdy. I might order another pair since they've been marked down so much. And the matching ones in black leather have been reduced down into the $89. range on some websites.

FYI, Dune of London made a great leather dupe of the dad sandals during the height of the pandemic - not sure if they’re still available, but they are also good quality.
