October 16th was the big Jamaica Love Sandals 2.0 Launch. I was in attendance and heard the Prime Minister speak of proposed new infrastructure projects and that he would be vislting the by-pass site. Jamaica Is progressing rapidly. Well done.
2028 is the projection that they have for both The Montego Bay Bypass and Long Hill Bypass, but the Mobay one will be completed faster. The Long Hill Bypass is delayed right now due to issues with relocating residents.
Still of the opinion that this bypass/bridge is being underbuilt by not providing for wide soft shoulders that can be converted into future HOV/bus/emergency vehicle lanes at a much lower cost...
I think that this is just the start of greater things to come as our country is developing as time progresses. Maybe in the future we won’t even use the roads or bridges. It would be so advanced that we would have flying cars and be apart of air traffic.
What do you propose and how do you propose we finance It? Maybe we have to work on what we can afford especially if we don't want to pay tolls but need to progress.
@sharoncb9546 financing a marginally wider roadway now will be far cheaper than trying to widen it in 10 years to accommodate the crush of traffic once the areas around the bypass urbanize/densify....as per the old saying...it's smart not uo be penny wise (over the short term) but pound foolish (over the long run)....
@@BrownBossJaTours please give a sane/level headed response....enough with the dream of flying cars ..the Kingston-centric government has widened the Mandela Highway to six lanes but has totally underestimated the potential attraction that this intra urban roadway will have for traffic gridlock!

@sharoncb9546 the additional two lanes could be tolled at a higher rate as express HOV/bus lanes...with lower or no tolls on the other four lanes...
Awesome Stuff
