I think the best education on riding two-up Ive ever seen. I passed on to my brothers wife who claims she is 59 years old and cant really perform what Marisa is doing🙂 They might get a lower sporttourer, instead changing from BMW R 1200GS to a BMW R 1200RS. My wife and I unfortunately at the same age, well even worse actually has always been on sporttourers so we can reach southern Europe from our home in Sweden. Cheers
I found it better to have a textured seat cover (ie sheep skin) on our leather seat (which I liked to keep polished against rain and sun) as under sudden or hard braking it would keep passengers from sliding forward and throwing me off balance too. Back rest of any kind does add security and comfort. I would always tell new passengers to wait till I told them to get off, especially kids. Left side dismount also keeps legs from potential right side hot pipes or warn them to make sure they step wide on dismounting with dual pipes. (Had a passenger yrs ago burn her leg on pipe - she was not happy with me!)
Hello, greetings from India. A bit late to the party, but finally found something very valuable for me and my wife. We do 2 up riding, and there are so many areas where we hit the blind spots, don't know what to do. Came accross your video / channel, I must say, there practically no videos on internet that explains 2 up riding, so easily and in detail. Appreciate your efforts.
Really enjoyed the video. The mount and dismount may not work well for larger passengers or those with less flexibility. I did like the standing portion. Maybe hold on to the waist?
Hi Tim, great video and especially the pillion peg and comfort ideas. A quick question as someone who is only 5ft 4" I very rarely get flat footed to assist, I keep the side stand down and lean over with my wife then using the same techniques' minus the French words (may suggest that in future), do you see any potential issues, I havent come across any yet but always open to some expert advice as we are about to do some more serious touring. Thanks again for the video.
This came out so awesome!! Thank you so much for the effort to put this together!
Of course. Always so happy to have you!
Great adventure and great video
