Just a prediction, I’m pretty worried about that too, but I’m confident they’re just gonna have Superman dealing with strange comic book threats in his downtime, while they mostly flesh out Lex Luthor as he sends maybe 1 or 2 villains for hire after him, and then end off with a single big time threat Lex creates/hires to kill Superman. That final big time supervillain will break out of Lex’s control or stop listening to him, attack him, and go rogue for the final battle. And throughout the movie they’ll probably have him already started at the Daily Planet and just build the Lois Clark relationship.

As much as I liked the Snyder cut, his DCU was going nowhere. Felt very much like a retelling of what we all know, just darker. This looks legitimately cohesive to the comics, and they are pulling out a bunch of villains to show off. Gunn managed to make GOTG mainstream. I will give him some slack on this and hope for the best.

However, it cleverly didn't shy away from the more modern aspects of comicbook storytelling with the division, frustration and inner turmoil that characters have to face without coming off as being polarizing.

Exactly how I felt. The big guy is the ultimate boy scout. He takes lots of pain and damage to protect others. I hope they keep the focus there. We need examples of self sacrifice and care in a society going selfish/feral.
@@TheCmac1966 That shot sold me that James Gunn knows what he's doing so I've got no worries now. And by god is that so refreshing to say after a decade of having to put up with the snyderverse. I grew up more on DC's content so it really stung that I could'nt root for their movies the way I can for Marvel. I want us to get to a point where we've have 6 successful Avengers movies and 3 awesome Justice League movies along with video game movies a regluar thing every year.

I’ve found it very odd that people have absolutely no loyalty to the main protagonists. In my lifetime I’ve gone through seven or so Batman’s and the same Supermans.
You and me both. Adam West was my Batman as a kid. He went from campy to dark in our lifetimes. 😂
The characters are protagonists. The actors are actors."Loyalty" to neither actor nor character is required. If you were a real superman fan, you'd be loyal to *principles*.
