- My daughter Mila takes surprise delivery of a new 2023 Skidoo MXZ 200. Also in the video is an end of season long term review discussing some good and some not so good points. We take it out on the lake to test for top speed and Mila practices some wheelies.
Thank you to Algonquin Equipment in Sudbury Ontario for sponsoring this video.

incredible rigs. we have a 2017 snoscoot 200. boy has ridden everywhere we go. no odometer on it but we easily do between 800-1200 miles a season. its truly unbelievable that its still going.
They are literally the best “sled related” investment you’ll ever make. Bulletproof and hold their value very well!
Ya the tether thing, I'd say get a good size carabiner you can use with gloves on and always hook it to the waist. Build that habit from the start. I'm sure some eyes will roll at this, but In my opinion the wrist method is poor, there's too many ways it can fail. I have seen people do innocent little tip overs on the slightest of inclines (like the edge of a trail where it's soft) where they are trying to hold onto the bars still, and then they get partially rolled over with the sled still running. Or I've seen it slip off the wrist, offering no protection at all, or catch on branches and kill the sled unintentionally. On a sea doo it can go to the wrist or ankle, but that's fine because you can't get pinned underneath a sea doo. On a sled it is meant to go to the waist. Anyway, I'm not telling you what to do, again, just my honest (long winded 😅) opinion. Thanks for the detailed review, appreciate it!
Yeah, agreed. Any other sled or Seadoo my girls ride now it’s always clipped to a vest or a jacket. Wrist is better than nothing but definitely not ideal.
that is a lucky kid for sure! :) dad earned some points here! ;) you've got quite a family history in sleds! :) fun video new friend here - will be back soon!
Yep, she’s lucky to have some very generous Grandparents 😊 Thanks for watching.
Hey Vince, I have a suggestion for the tether on the 200. I kept the neoprene Velcro wristband from the old tether on my seadoo when I got a new one and use it on the same clip on the tether for my bass boat. Those universal watercraft tethers are only $20. It has a nice plastic loop to attach the metal clip then the kids just have to slip it over their glove and wrap the Velcro snug. 👍
@gregdeguerre8804 great suggestion!! I will definitely do that, thanks!
I bought a new snoscoot in 18 for my kids there alot of fun no major issues expect we let a neighbor kid ride it who never rode sleds and burnt the brakes up so back to the dealer it went $250 later all good
Love it! They do seem pretty bulletproof.
Found your channel and enjoy it. Pretty similar setup for me but I have a 12 year old daughter. Looking at a Neo Plus. For her and me as a backup. How do you find the suspension on the Neo plus to be for you? I see you on the 200 but wonder how it holds hope. I have an aging 800 and would rather use the NEO a few times a season vs. a new big boy. Being 5-5 I found the Neo plus more comfortable than my full sized I'm running! Let me know!
@walleyewiz1308 thanks for watching, glad you're enjoying the content. I haven't ridden the NEO much but I am 5'11" & 190#'s it obviously feels very light and manoeuvrable. I'd say it could definitely serve you as a back up sled. I'd also highly recommend it for any adult who might be riding a sled for the first time.
@BeaverTailToys Awesome! That's what I was looking for... my daughter should love it... just need snow to get it through break in!
Cool content and thanks for the reply!
Enjoy your ride ☃️👍👍❤️
She loved every minute she spent on that thing.
Great review. Question for you, I have an 8yo son who is really good on his little 50cc quad. He’s got decent throttle control, but it’s a work in progress. Curious if that 200 has some sort of limiting throttle on it so I can prevent him from going full speed all the time!! He loves the loud handle for sure!!
Thanks @redneckf350 there’s nothing in the throttle body to limit throttle there is only the 1 screw for idle adjustment. Maybe you could just tape a small block to the back of the throttle lever?
What is the part # for the LED hand guards?
Let me know if you figure it out. I’d like to get these also.
Curious as well!
@MrWolfer75 these are the same ones typically used on the regular sleds. The # they have on the website is SKU 860201587.

Are you going to mod it with hurricane like the Mach?
Haha, world’s first turbocharged 200 😁 I like it!
@@BeaverTailToys full vid about it and then a race between the Mach and the MXZ 200 see who win
Haha, May as well race for pink slips too then eh?! 😜
What handguards are those ?
LED handguards from BRP.
When was this video shot?
Shot throughout the winter but mainly late February/March 2023.
I just have one question, WHY do you call it a MXZED, were does the ZED come from. It is a Z. Is the ZED some kind of Canadian thing ? I purchased the same sled for my two grandchildren. They are 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 and it is perfect for now. They already want to ride the tn't , but I said they have to master the 200 first. I think it is a great platform to learn on, and should last a couple of years.
Yes the letter Z is pronounced Zed here in Canada. Not Zee like Americans. You Americans also spell words completely different, color vs colour for example and cheque vs check. You get your cheque on payday, a check to me is what I do to my tractor trailer every morning before I start work.
Great, hey everybody has their own interpretations' on how things are spoken and spelled, different country and language. Love it. RIDE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @@gregdeguerre8804
Haha @mikedionne8795 yep Americans say Zee and the rest of the world says Zed 😊
Totally agree, I think mastering the 200 is a great base for any up and coming rider.
Arctic cat making skidoos. Who would thought
Haha, yep making the same sled for Yamaha as well. The 120’s & 200’s.
Are the LED handgaurds plug and play or do you need to splice?
@aaronw6706 I'm not exactly sure as the dealer installed these for me. I don't think they are plug and play. If I follow the wires they are plugged in what seems to be some kind of "driver" box that has a BRP sticker with P/N 515178339. That box is hard wired to the battery.
@@BeaverTailToys appreciate the response. Is this something a guy could DIY or does the dealer need to take this on? I’m handy but not with wiring.
I’d say you should be ok. Just a + and - connection to the battery 👍🏼
@@BeaverTailToys Thanks again!
Hey,
We are picking up the sled Friday and we have the handgaurds. I was just thinking if i wired them directly to the battery they would never shut off. Are they tied into the key somehow?
