I don’t recall seeing that. What the city did do is put fences everywhere and helped move many homeless to other areas. They also had every cop, CHP, secret service, FBI and lord knows who else here. That’s what it took and they were able to pull it off for a week.

And it’s actually illegal for the cities to go around inspecting for certain things-they only can go check it out if there is a complaint. I think that the sidewalk rules are probably mostly reasonable, but this is poor enforcement caused by very few people (the advocates) complaining over and over. I’d bet that if the businesses also complained over and over then the city might listen to them too, but most hardworking people with jobs probably don’t want to do that with their time.

Sidewalks are WALKING, not planting! It seems if you are a homeowner you can park and plant in public space.

This makes me so nuts. I grew up in San Francisco in the 80's. It can be a beautiful city and should be one of the pinnacle cities of our country. Truly a world class place but the leaders are squandering our city letting it lay in ruin.

That's all they do is violate hardworking people. Whether its onerous parking fines, onerous fees, attacks on small businesses. If you are a criminal, breaking laws, fine, but if you are hardworking and honest they will come for you.

If I was homeless I can imagine how much more I would rather sleep outside than sleep in a room full of bunk beds with other homeless people.
The fact that there are people who would enforce these “laws” is just as big of a problem as the laws themselves.
