Its interesting and kind of upsetting to see how countries have gone from singing in their own languages to eventually switching to English songs, I know more people tend to understand English but it doesn't feel like we're getting a taste of everyone's cultures anymore
HousSam LaBiod I think thats why Portugal's song this year was extra special, even though it was in Portuguese everyone could still feel the emotions of the song
Personally I didn't want that song to be the winner but somehow you still have a point I think most of entries should hold on to their national languages and YES YES YES Portugal did well when its entry was 100% in Portuguese
I totally agree with you.... Eurovision slogan is CELEBRATE DIVERSITY where is the diversity if all contestants sing in English??? Portugal won because the song was in Portuguese, the song was some kind of magic because most people do not understand the lyrics but understand the feelings

Still have trouble understanding how Estonia won in 2001 when there was "Die for you", "Energy", "Dile que la quiero" and many more worthy songs. But maybe at the time the general music taste was very different so I can't know.
Estonia had a very current song for that time + they gave the best performance that evening + cool factor + most memorable = sure win Those 3 you mention were good but not enough impactful/enjoyable compared to Estonia
Same here, I feel the same way with 2002, 2007 + 2017 as well. There's bound to be strange years where the public have such weird tastes and winner becomes instantly forgettable while some other entries were bigger hits.

What's up with this kind of videos? I think it's just touching to remember the great Eurovision history! And the official channel is the rightest place to do so, they have the best video library.
+tihk89 They actually have a copy of the colored broadcast of the 1969 contest and th showed it in past videos before. I'm unsure why they decided to use the one in B&W though.
No matter what will happen Alexander Rybak is always going to be the best in my opinion 💕💕 (Also, as a Finn I still feel pride because of Lordi. Not like we are ever gonna win again)
welp , your vote presenters promised that you would win in the next century. ( I still feel if you sent circle of light you would have a had a chance at the top 10 this year)
This year my favourite was absolutely Blackbird, but Circle of Life would have been good as well. Too bad the performance went downhill in the UMK final.
I've seen many videos that like this, listing all winners from the first to the latest, but you making the same list but in reverse makes it very interesting, because there appears to be an unseen perspective. This is like the Benjamin Button of Eurovision Song Contest winners videos.
My top 10 fav of all time: 1. Ireland 1996 2. Norway 1995 3. United Kingdom 1997 4. Portugal 2017 5. Sweden 1991 6. Sweden 1999 7. Austria 2014 8. Sweden 2012 9. Greece 2005 10. Germany 2010 Greetings from Greece
They are all winners to me. They are each unique and bring something special to music in general. However I’ll note that without Eurovision we would not have ABBA and Celine Dion. They are the only ones of note here that have reached the upper echelons of music. But still love every winner though. Congratulations to every one of you.
Molitva without a doubt.Very different from most winners.Marija didn't win thanks to her look or a commercial song but thanks to a high quality song, a powerfull voice and the most important is that she sang in Serbian, beautiful language...
Amazing Top 10! I like all a lot but 1973 (Spain was the winner that year) France 1977 is amazing Sweden 84 is super catchy and enjoyable :) And Dima is
Salvador and Jamala - unique, interesting winners. Sertab - new era of music in eurovision history. Mans and Loreen - legends. Conchita - sensation. Queens: Loreen, Conhcita(lol), Jamala. Kings: Mans and Conchita(lol) Dissapoint... Is only 2008 and... Maybe 2011 😐
What about before 2000? I'd say that the definite game-changers of the ESC are France Gall and ABBA, as well as a couple of markers like Bucks Fizz, Johnny Logan and Lordi.
GMan Here's mine :): 2010's:Only Teardrops and Toy 2000's:Molitva and Fairytale 1990's:Nocturne and Why Me 1980's:Ein Bisschen Frieden and Rock Me 1970's:Waterloo and A-Ba-Ni-Ba 1960's:Merci,Cherie and De Troubadour 1950's: Een Beetje 😄❤🌷
Johann Dallan I would've liked Måns's song, if the song wasn't a copy of David Guetta's Lovers on the sun. Just listen to that and you know what I mean.
1950s: Refrain and Net Als Toen 1960s: Dansevise and Non Ho L'Età 1970s: Save Your Kisses For Me and Hallelujah 1980s: La Det Swinge and Hold Me Now 1990s: Nocturne, The Voice and Love Shine A Light 2000s: Fairytale 2010s: Only Teardrops and Amar Pelos Dois

Serbia 2007 is a little bit overrated as well, I've heard better balkan ballads in Eurovision (Bosnia-Hercegovina'2006). Best winners are Norway 1995, Italy 1964, UK 1976, Spain 1969 and Germany 1982 France 1973 is pretty overrated

Salocin the ESC want to be special:D
Salocin no because they went from 2017 all the way back to 1956, cmon man...
I think they wanna take us down memory lane
Because everyobe else were doing it that way so they .ight as well do the complete reverse to stand out.
Cause people are more likely to remember the recent years
Thanks for compiling. Brings back memories.
Look, I'm not a huge fan of all of the winners but I hope we can all agree that each and every single one of them deserved their victory and shaped Eurovision into what it is now (:

Dalor but the dancers are like Eww

...even though it hurts. 'Cause no one cares if they lose their mind. They're already cursed.
The transition from the voice to nocturne was smooth af
RIP FRANCE GALL
In my opiniom Loreen, Conchita, Jamala and Salvador are the perfect winners!❤️
Still have trouble understanding how Estonia won in 2001 when there was "Die for you", "Energy", "Dile que la quiero" and many more worthy songs. But maybe at the time the general music taste was very different so I can't know.
ShroomWalrus Because it was a song about the history of Estonia and their singing revolution.
ShroomWalrus it was very contemporary song and in a style popular at that time, no wonder it won
Estonia had a very current song for that time + they gave the best performance that evening + cool factor + most memorable = sure win
Those 3 you mention were good but not enough impactful/enjoyable compared to Estonia
Same here, I feel the same way with 2002, 2007 + 2017 as well. There's bound to be strange years where the public have such weird tastes and winner becomes instantly forgettable while some other entries were bigger hits.
Jack Walker and 2008 also

Oh, now the actual Eurovision channel is getting onto these kinds of videos?
What's up with this kind of videos? I think it's just touching to remember the great Eurovision history! And the official channel is the rightest place to do so, they have the best video library.
Alejandro Domínguez Except that the official channel doesnt seem to have colour versio of 1969 contest even when it's available on youtube :D
After they deleted ESC LT they have to make it...
+tihk89 They actually have a copy of the colored broadcast of the 1969 contest and th showed it in past videos before. I'm unsure why they decided to use the one in B&W though.
Igor Chobot I didn't know that that channel had been deleted :o

So many beautiful songs. The one that makes me emotional almost every time though is Ein Bisschen Frieden, such an amazing song.
No matter what will happen Alexander Rybak is always going to be the best in my opinion 💕💕
(Also, as a Finn I still feel pride because of Lordi. Not like we are ever gonna win again)
VanillaSoul off course someday finland will win again it's just gonna take like 30 years😂
AT LEAST 30 years xD Though I doubt that it'll happen again xDD
2 Epic Wins
welp , your vote presenters promised that you would win in the next century. ( I still feel if you sent circle of light you would have a had a chance at the top 10 this year)
This year my favourite was absolutely Blackbird, but Circle of Life would have been good as well. Too bad the performance went downhill in the UMK final.
RIP Lys the first winner of Eurovision 😢

ABBA. Always ABBA.
I've seen many videos that like this, listing all winners from the first to the latest, but you making the same list but in reverse makes it very interesting, because there appears to be an unseen perspective. This is like the Benjamin Button of Eurovision Song Contest winners videos.

EurovisionHUN thank you
Helena Paparizou
I've been waiting for this video. I know all the winning songs myself, but I haven't yet seen a video on it on the official channel.
Amazing! I love every single one of them ♥
Can't wait to see who will join the list next year!
Jamala in my opinion is the best winner though :D
I prefer Loreen.
H
you will be happy (israel won !!!!!!)
Salvador Sobral, the most touching and emotional performance ever!

Conchita - sensation.

Kings: Mans and Conchita(lol)
Dissapoint... Is only 2008 and... Maybe 2011 😐
2011, 2001 and 2002 were the most meh in my opinion
What about before 2000? I'd say that the definite game-changers of the ESC are France Gall and ABBA, as well as a couple of markers like Bucks Fizz, Johnny Logan and Lordi.
Euphoria and 1944 are overrated, 2008 and 2011 were both okay winner
Sanne Vermeulen its only my opinion
Deniman|Love subs :3 you weren't disappointed Gina G didn't win in 1996?

2010s: Euphoria
2000s: Molitva

1960's:Merci,Cherie and De Troubadour
1950's: Een Beetje
😄❤🌷
@@aminaj.7032 un premier amour was 1962
@@kaitlinbilous4605Thank you. I corrected it now 🙂
Måns, Loreen, Salvador and Alexander. Those are the best to me
Johann Dallan I would've liked Måns's song, if the song wasn't a copy of David Guetta's Lovers on the sun. Just listen to that and you know what I mean.
Y'all can agree or disagree, but I'm just here to appreciate the masterpieces that "1944" and "Molitva" are.
Between Salvador, Jamala, Conchita, Loreen, Secret Garden and Celine Dion, I can't pick one.
Rybak and Lena!!!
ABBA still the best
1950s: Refrain and Net Als Toen
1960s: Dansevise and Non Ho L'Età
1970s: Save Your Kisses For Me and Hallelujah
1980s: La Det Swinge and Hold Me Now
1990s: Nocturne, The Voice and Love Shine A Light
2000s: Fairytale
2010s: Only Teardrops and Amar Pelos Dois
İtaly il volo grande amore very fantastic.Real winner all time. From Turkey 🇹🇷
I think the best winner is Marija Šerifović 😍 She deserved winner!

My worst winners : azerbijzan 2011 Latvia 2002
The worst winners is Jamala, Dana International and Conchita
Am I the only one i hate Portugal 2017?
Serbia 2007 is a little bit overrated as well, I've heard better balkan ballads in Eurovision (Bosnia-Hercegovina'2006).
Best winners are Norway 1995, Italy 1964, UK 1976, Spain 1969 and Germany 1982
France 1973 is pretty overrated
Ireland?
