Robin Lehner and Thomas Greiss are playing out their minds. Last year the team SV% was .903 this year it's .927. Goals for are down as well, the Isles went from 3.18 GPG last year to 2.73 GPG this year. Lehner and Greiss both playing Vezina calibre is why the Isles are up there. Hope they can maintain it otherwise the season goes very differently.

I'm not a NYI or Leafs fan at all (Lightning actually), but I've seen them play very tough against Tampa (1 of the few teams to really slow down that offense). Just an outside observer finding it interesting how the Islanders seem to be doing more with less (compared to last year), and Toronto seems to be doing about the same with more. As for the Islanders goaltending, their goaltending is very solid, but I think Barry Trotz's defensive emphasis plays a large part as well. I've seen only 6 or 8 Islanders games this year, so just not sure how much of it is goaltending, how much is defense.
