It was an impersonator dancing, you can tell. Nobody moves like Michael. Michael’s moves were perfection. But it was a great tribute to him. The impersonator did his best to capture Michael’s essence, props to him.
It's a computer/digital hologram of Michael Jackson, they released the behind the scene footage...look it up. This isn't the first hologram, they did one of Tupac, Elvis Presley, and Nat King Cole. Technology has come a long way people.

His family and lawyers control the estate so no. I highly doubt they were paid for this but if they were so what? It was a one time think to honor the King of Pop. He even returned to his throne at the end, I love that detail.

It was cool remix with enhanced production and vocals. I think it was a pretty great comeback song. No one had really heard it before. It would’ve been boring if they just did like Billie Jean or thriller.
2014 Billboard Music Awards. Slave to the Rhythm was on the Xscape album, this was a way of promoting the album. The thought was from the Michael Jackson estate.
Did you know the song was originally recorded in 1990, but never got released to the public. I feel like it should have been released on the Dangerous album or at least the HIStory album.
It got released on the Xscape album which was released after his death . I can’t remember what year . Possibly 8 or 9 years ago . The album was a compilation of a bunch of his songs he had recorded but chose not to release on any of his albums because he didn’t really find them up to his own standards . I love and own this album on vinyl.
That’s from a Cirque du Soleil show called “One” that’s been playing for years at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. It was the best show! Michael was the only hologram, the other dancers were part of the dance troupe. Go see it if you ever get the chance, I’ve seen it twice!
I believe it was during dangerous because it sounds and has similar ad-libs to blood on the dance floor. Blood on the dance floor was written and recorded in 1991-1992 but released in 1997.❤️
@@JacksonsLegendary Lol. Michael didn't write Slave To The Rythm at all. It was written by L. A. Reid, Babyface, Daryl Simmons and Kevin Roberson. Michael first ever met L.A. Reid and Babyface on May 8, 1990 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel to recieve and award from BMI. Michael subsequently invited them both to Neverland to discuss possibly working together. During those conversations Michael apparantly told them that " I am a slave to the rythm". Later they played Michael a bunch of tracks and he chose the track that would become the song and asked them to complete it. Reid and Babyface named it after Michael's statement. It was eventually recorded at Can Am Studios and at Larrabee North Studios in Los Angeles where Michael did several different vocal takes. This was in 1990 like you said. It was produced by L. A. Reid and Babyface, engineered by Bruce Swedien with Thom Russo as an assistant and mixed by Bruce Swedien and Paul McKenna. The people who performed on the song was Michael on lead and background vocals, L. A. Reid on keyboards and drums, Babyface on keyboards and Kevin Roberson on bass guitar. And yes it was i consideration for the Dangerous album. The so-called hologram (which technically it wasn't) was not Michael at all, it was an impersonator named Earnest Valentino and then they CGI'd a lackluster MJ-face on in. The whole thing was laughable and quite frankly disrespectful to the man who is considered the greatest performer in history. I hope y'all learned something :)
Yeah it is what’s called a Pepper’s ghost, this was made and shown in 2014 and features the song ‘Slave to the Rhythm’ which was released the same year, Michael had tragically died in 2009 so an impersonator performed the moves and cgi was used to recreate his appearance
If MJ wanted the song to be published, he would have done it. I doubt MJ would've liked THIS version of the song. "The song was written and recorded in 1991, with L.A. Reid and Babyface during sessions for the Dangerous album, but failed to make it through the final cut." Here is the ORIGINAL version of the song. Sounds a little bit different: ruclips.net/video/mMwGT27OBNU/видео.html

Hi To be honest, anybody could've known that wasn't Michael it didn't look like him, and the dance moves were not smooth it was stiff it was an impersonator that was the hologram I hate the fact they couldn't use Michael's real body figure and movements as the hologram if it was possible.
I am a die hard Michael Jackson fan and I have never seen this before. Thanks for putting me on. Nice reaction
hee hee factssss, i was mad that i missed out watching it on tv
“die hard” ?
It’s not even MJ and I cried when I found out. I thought google was just jacked up and MJ never died😭😭

This is a hologram btw. It came out years after he died
