Kehehehehehe. Okay, all joking aside, I have a headcanon that Kiyo was abused by his sister. After she died, he was happy she was gone, but felt guilty about being happy that a relative was dead. So, he developed the split personality of her to convince himself that she was, in fact, a good person. Not only that, after his sister died, his parents became mentally unstable and they were convinced that he was to blame for his sister’s death. As a result of this, they began to treat him badly and he then focused on anthropology to take his mind off everything he was dealing with. Because of the abuse he endured from his family, he started to self-harm and his sister’s ‘ghost’ obviously did not help with this. It’s also the reason he became a serial killer. He thought that if his sister had other people to be friends with, she would go away and stop talking to him. His theory of the ‘unlimited beauty of humanity’ is actually a method for him to reassure himself that there is still good left in the world.
Ur close, but he actually developed the split personality from the torture he received when entering a certain village place, and he liked anthropology not to take his mind off of things, but to actually get closer to his dead sister and stuff. He wasn’t blamed for her death, because she had an illness and stuff. She did actually do some things to make him hard-on for her, sadly :(. Kiyo would have survived Danganronpa if his sister hadn’t existed 😤
12:10 I didn't catch it at the time, but that's a big clue re: the twist at the end. Because Kiyo's sister *didn't* make his uniform for him -- we saw him get it from the Monokubs in the Prologue, just like all the other kids did -- but he clearly believes she did. It's a false memory.

I’ve done a voice that was a mix of Kiyo and Nagito before (not on my own of course. It was for a voice acting gig thingy) I gotta say, Kiyo’s laugh is one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard in voice acting. “Kehehhehehehehheh!!!!!!”

We have Genocider, Mukuro, Peko, Fuyuhiko(probably), & Maki; all of which are other characters that (even outside of brainwashing) killed possibly even more than just a measly hundred. Guess what. We still love those characters, right? With the incest, we also have a couple other characters (*cough* Tsumugi and Mukuro(again)) that are also into that shit, but we love them still! If we are gonna hate someone for incest and not even bring up the others that have also most certainly shown interest in the same thing, then be more observant, or something. So all in all, people are hating this character that Kotaka had spent possibly more time on than any other character, because of reasons prevalent in other much more beloved characters. So really, any who bothered to read this and still hate Kork, at least take what I said and put that into perspective. Hating Shinguji but absolutely adoring Inkusaba is kinda hypocritical. But anyway, the guy is best character, in my opinion; which is mainly because of my own love for anthropology. While I definitely do not like Kiyo for his incest and serial killer side, I like him for talking a lot about mythology and culture. Its always fun learning about certain religions and customs because they're so complex and have interesting concepts behind them. If it wasn't for the fact Kiyo is psychotic, he would have become one of my favorite characters. Elina Carmina Well the only thing that would inevitably stop me from liking Kiyo is is obsession for killing. It’s just that no matter what gender, if you actually try to be close friends with him, you will die lol Proof of this is in the graduation scene where he promises Shuichi that he would be friends with his sister. While I do findit unnecessarily edgy and flat out creepy, the whole incest thing could actually hint to some hidden background details I’d be interested in exploring. So you could say I have a love-hate relationship for Kiyo. The idea of romanticizing a character as complex as say Nagito or Ouma is definitely not my favorite. I’m fine with one’s opinion, but I feel doing so kind of takes away the actual significance of the character. I feel characters like Nagito and Ouma should be favored because they are actually well written, with complex backstories, themes, or unpredictable thinking patterns that make them so interesting. Instead, there’s always that one person that likes them because...they are into crazy people(no offense). Like I said before, everyone has their opinions. But for me, I try to appreciate a character because of their writing.
Kenji YuLong While kiyo is my second favorite charecter, i still recognize his flaws. I most certainly do not like incest, and i have my own reasons for that, aswell as murdering people, but, like all charecters, it adds to his charecter. Ouma wouldnt be ouma if he didnt lie, and gonta wouldnt be gonra if he wasnt gullibe or unintelligent. It just adds onto what he was written to be, and i like him not for just his flaws or just his perks, but for him as a charecter, though its ok if some people dont like him

Examples being how his alter ego of his sister always referred to him as “little brother”, proving he was younger then her therefore vulnerable , and he even stated that she made his own clothes for him and even got him into anthropology, showing how much control she has. Grooming and abuse is also more likely to happen between family members as well. I suggest you watch an analysis on his character and these hints on his character and backstory

Yeah.. he tried to add some flavor but couldn’t find any vinegar to the salty, burnt fries to help lift his spirits. There’s no se-ance to wether or not the salt gives him internal pain. He’s bound to get through and finish them fries, though.
Not so fun fact, explaining Korekiyo's execution and the class trial ending: When he was young, his sister would sexually abused him so much he genuinely believed he was in love with her. Even when she was an adult and he was still a child, this continued. She went in and out of the hospital and was often sick, which make Kiyo feel really bad and try to accompany her as much as possible. He didn't want her to die alone. This explains the '100 friends' wish he had made, the wish to send company to his terrible sibling. Because of this fact, I feel really bad for Korekiyo because he's really a good character with a tragic past.

Well the only thing that would inevitably stop me from liking Kiyo is is obsession for killing. It’s just that no matter what gender, if you actually try to be close friends with him, you will die lol Proof of this is in the graduation scene where he promises Shuichi that he would be friends with his sister. While I do findit unnecessarily edgy and flat out creepy, the whole incest thing could actually hint to some hidden background details I’d be interested in exploring. So you could say I have a love-hate relationship for Kiyo.
The idea of romanticizing a character as complex as say Nagito or Ouma is definitely not my favorite. I’m fine with one’s opinion, but I feel doing so kind of takes away the actual significance of the character. I feel characters like Nagito and Ouma should be favored because they are actually well written, with complex backstories, themes, or unpredictable thinking patterns that make them so interesting. Instead, there’s always that one person that likes them because...they are into crazy people(no offense). Like I said before, everyone has their opinions. But for me, I try to appreciate a character because of their writing.
Kenji YuLong While kiyo is my second favorite charecter, i still recognize his flaws. I most certainly do not like incest, and i have my own reasons for that, aswell as murdering people, but, like all charecters, it adds to his charecter. Ouma wouldnt be ouma if he didnt lie, and gonta wouldnt be gonra if he wasnt gullibe or unintelligent. It just adds onto what he was written to be, and i like him not for just his flaws or just his perks, but for him as a charecter, though its ok if some people dont like him

@Peko With a bat no it’s not just a fan theory, there’s so much canon evidence that isn’t even hard to decipher at all. Examples being how his alter ego of his sister always referred to him as “little brother”, proving he was younger then her therefore vulnerable , and he even stated that she made his own clothes for him and even got him into anthropology, showing how much control she has. Grooming and abuse is also more likely to happen between family members as well. I suggest you watch an analysis on his character and these hints on his character and backstory

Not so fun fact, explaining Korekiyo's execution and the class trial ending:
When he was young, his sister would sexually abused him so much he genuinely believed he was in love with her. Even when she was an adult and he was still a child, this continued. She went in and out of the hospital and was often sick, which make Kiyo feel really bad and try to accompany her as much as possible. He didn't want her to die alone. This explains the '100 friends' wish he had made, the wish to send company to his terrible sibling.
Because of this fact, I feel really bad for Korekiyo because he's really a good character with a tragic past.
But their relationship never was sexual, it was even said in the game itself.
