I miss going to Myth Adventures when I was a kid. I moved to the Houston area in 2006 and didn't have that great of a comic shop nearby.
This is cool. I started reading comics like a year ago and I love the environment and people that work in a comic book store. When they love what they do it shows. I would love to do something like this but too bad it doesn't pay much.

Im from Morelia in México. There is only one little comic book store at the end of a mall, it is too hide, too small, but im allways happy when I Go there.
I loved the documentary, it gives a unique perspective on the comic book store owner...
It's very neat to see all genres represented in these drawn books, not just the one niche of "superheroes." There's something for everybody! As it used to be, many decades ago.
This is why digital comics will never take off to the extent of paper print. The human bond that's something digital could never provide.
There really need to more little things like this. And even a behind the scenes thing
This was really great, especially with the firefighter who says he does it as a passion. Bravo to you for making this, and kudos to the owners of their shops.
Man... this makes me miss the old comic book store that closed down in my city =S. Now we have no comic book stores anymore...
I like comic documentaries and nerdy docs as well and this was really good! Being a comic book fan I can honestly say that I've never thought of the owners point of view, it's enlightening and entertaining at the same time.
Every Wednesday I go to Myth Adventures, Kaboom Comics, and Hobbies & Heroes to get my weekly books. Best day every week.

It's sad... the boys are still in the comics shops, but the girls had to move off into mainstream books -- it's a huge and growing market, but it's where the girls went because we had to. Wish they'd do a documentary on that.
Let me clarify. Girls have taken "comics" off to the mainstream market, where the books are going into bookstores, into POD publishing and libraries. We as a gender have EXPANDED the medium of drawn books.
Reading that you're making a second part I would love to see some dedication towards seeing some women represented here.

Not necessarily true my friend. I'm a girl and I LOVE comic books. I also have a plethora of other girl friends who REALLY dig comics. We read books as well, but we haven't abandoned comic books for them. Why would we? It's still a fantastic medium, and that you ascribe association to it to one gender to the exclusion of the other is both a sad and false train of thought. :(

What would happen if I sneezed on a very very rare issue of Spider-Man?
the high dollar items are usually kept behind the counter and I doubt you'd be able to breath on it much less sneeze near it. if its a graded comic then it'll be in a hard plastic sleeve. only times you can really hold an expensive comic before buying it other than at a comic shop would be at comic con (conventions) and even then the seller is watching you like a hawk.
Mushroom Head if it was that rare it would be behind a glass case that would be locked from the back.

Sadly yes :( I used to play and collect Warhammer a lot 10 years ago. And even back then it was expensive but now It seems to gets pricier every day. So a lot of friends stopped playing

Comic shop owners are some of the most annoying people in my experience,they have dry personalities they can be rude snobby,they are just not at all very warm to be around.I guess that's the difference you know us as the fans get immersed in the world where as the owner just sees a business I hope you guys make your money but if I had to be on one side Id stay where I'm at instead of being like them
i hope everyone goes to amazon, comic shops sucks their comics are 2-3 times the price seen thor comics for $200 plus then seen them in great condition for $15-$20.
Comic shop I go to had great price. And it's In good condition.
