But even then, unless they make 50% or more of important fights Extra Class Draco will still be good. I mean a lot of the Shiny new servant are standard classes and thus want standard class enemies. Aesc, Bihma, Medusa Saber, Ptlomaios. And for Extra Class examples that still want standard class enemies, Uesugi Kenshi, Summer Melu, and all Alter Ego. The truth is, Draco gimmick is such that they would need to completely redesign the way they make bosses and future servants(Now they would need to always assume class neutral under all circumstances) all for the sake of making Draco less overpowered. As long as it is fate, the 7 classes will play a big role, and so will Draco. So just logically, it's not worth taking all this trouble and forcing people to fight using rare Extra Class and doing neutral damage just to nerf a single servant. Also having too many Extra class enemies has also lore implications which makes things even harder.
I don't think the video was bad, just that your suggestion of caution turned out to be unnecessary. I agree that her kit isn't all that inspired when you look at it in a vacuum, but her class is just so good that it doesn't end up mattering in most cases. Not that I was going to care either way, I wanted her regardless because she's just too goddamn cool! I have a weakness for overly badass servants, I guess.

She's not the best ST servant but she is extremely versatile. Every F2P and low-spending players will love how versatile she is with her class affinity and kit. Draco is cool as well, I love the remix of her NP BGM.
Ya she ain't a good pull for F2P mostly cause you need NP2+ esp if you don't have supports and want to solo.... Also like said above Barstoria is a better F2P choice as she is just the best ST in game and omes with Kuro.

Draco to me, is a case of a character being a Swiss pocket knife Just like how a Swiss pocket knife is versatile in situations, Draco is very flexible in terms of the list of enemies she can handle due to Beast class straight up countering all standard seven class enemies. But there are cases where a Swiss pocket knife is not suitable to solve a problem. You wouldn't try to cut off a tree with a pocket knife, there are better tools for the job. Same case with Draco, she is hard countered by the extra class enemies so you wouldn't force her into those fights most of the time (unless you are brute forcing it). So in conclusion, Draco is a Swiss pocket knife servant that excels in majority of the situations but there are times where she is just not suitable for a job, mainly juat because of the dev's decision on designing the Beast class
@@Maaseruu well that is certainly true, zerks have always been the go-to universal class for DPS, but they do struggle to survive hits (unless with min-turn setup or certain niche team like the Morgan-Castoria-Merlin immortal setup) due to them receiving double damage from all class. They are more suited to be called "glass cannon" than a "pocket knife" in my opinion just because most of them requires extensive babysitting or pray to RNGesus they won't get one-shot by a random hit

The way I always saw it is that *every* servant has some kind of niche; something they're good at, along with something they're bad at. A lot of top-tier "must roll" meta servants still have things and situations they're not really suited for, but we very rarely actually ding them much for it. Draco however, got hyper focused on her disadvantage against Extra classes as being some super negative thing, when it's simply just something that is outside of her niche. Like we don't complain about Riders for being weak to Assassins. We don't complain about Sabers being weak to Archers. It's just the natural order of things, and the Beast class has its natural order too. Penalizing Draco for it just seemed really weird to me; it seemed more like the *majority* of your complaints fell in line with something that could be attributed to the Beast class, rather than Draco herself. Which I guess it wouldn't be the first time with this game's playerbase, since a lot of people still seem to love shitting on Moon Cancers. The great thing about FGO is that there are so many servants, you have freedom to make a variety of teams based on your current needs. If you can't bring Draco to something because it goes against her niche, then just bring someone else from your roster, and go back to her when the ball is back in her court.
This was exactly what I was referring to in my comment in your community post! You asked what makes things FGOtubers believable, and I mentioned that I still sometimes stand critical even some good points have been made, this being one of them. Since I tend to do a fair number or QSH solos, I greatly appreciate the defensive class advantage a Ruler has, and Beast is just that in steroids. I would go as far as to put Draco in EX just because of the class, even though her skillset doesn't necessarily warrant that tier for her.
Funnily enough, Koyan of Mid is like.. an absolute prefect support for Draco on paper Draco isn't Hominiade (doesn't suffer the 100% star succ down) Draco is animal traited (gets the bonus 30% attack/defence) Draco's 5k burn works splendidly with Koyan's skill 3 (suddenly jumping to 10k per turn) Of course, in practice Merlin/Better Koyan/Castoria is way better to run. But it's funny just how perfectly Foreigner Koyan and Draco matches up
I'm actually glad, beast nero proved you wrong, because with how strong and amazing beast class as proven to be, I hope we do end up getting another beast class and as someone who knew how broken she would be just by looking at her kit, I'm very happy that this whole year basically she has gotten her time to shine
The main classes have a full counterclass. So unless you need to fight multiple servants of the main classes with a ST for some reason (which isn't to say it doesn't happen, you mentioned Grailfronts where she is very good), or are up against berserkers where she is basically a foreigner, I would rather take someone else. (She is also a decent ST caster replacement if you have the Roman Command code, but that is maybe not as relevant for future banners) It isn't just every time you encounter a main class servant she is suddenly an amazing option, because you can just get actual class advantage. Farming was another possible use, especially with the prevalence of servants on the final wave and her refund+ slow charge letting her NP twice. But then Berserkertoria came out with 70% charge, some of it targetable and similar damage.
If she has buster NP she will definitely deal even more damage but she will lose some farming refund. So this is one of the instance i think having mixed deck is "fine"

Lol no, opposite infact, if she was Buster her NP damage would be significantly lower, because Buster supports are terrible at buffing NP damage, which is her main damage source as it has the Anti-servant trait, so Buster would be the absolute worst card type for her. She would have better Crits, that's it, everything else about her would be a massive downgrade as she would no longer synergize well with Castoria anymore, and Castoria destroys every Buster support by a mile.

Cool. I was binge watching the Hot Takes Series just last night and saw Draco's (twice now). I think Draco is fine in the right scenarios like any other Servant (I wouldn't bring my Melusine to solo a CQ Sigurd...not yet at least), but I'm not quite yet a FGO Madlad so...eh. What do I know?
Defensive utility-this is why Rulers are totally slept on despite not having hyper offensive kits like Avengers or Berserkers or just proper counterclassing options.
I think this is just a case of the content being made to accommodate her except in cases where the servant released FOR that event would do better on something that Draco struggles at. In recent years I feel they usually dont put any immediate or big obstacles for a servant the year of their release. New toy syndrome and stuff
Okey so, I think you got good points on your hot take, but at the same time Draco is still unbelievably broken as an unit. Having "counters" doesn't make her less broken, it just stops her for making all the rest of the st units irrelevant
The issue is the fixation on a character being broken. The only broken character is Castoria, Draco is an extremely powerful unit but she doesn't do anything to break the game (ignoring mechanics/obliterating the meta). I don't understand what's wrong with that though, it stops older units from being irrelevant.

Using np5 lvl 120 does not solidify her being strong and usable against extra classes, to be fair when you evaluate someone you evaluate at its most common simple case (lvl90 np1). Ppl overrate her DMG because they use her at np5 and they compare her to other servants at np1 or lower than 4 They always look at things in general and never in practice

I don’t think the extra class thing is all that big a deal. Sure not a hyper omni-killer that hits everything insanely hard. But someone that can be used for most of the classes in the game at a high level seems pretty strong. Usage will rise and fall depending on different events and stories, but that isn’t a big deal.

Pretty much. I still think them not using extra class mobs in farming is SUCH a wasted opportunity to actually make extra classes more useful than how much they do on neutral. That and making mixed class nodes so the abnormal type effectiveness of classes like Pretender or Alter Ego play a role.

I think Draco is fine in the right scenarios like any other Servant (I wouldn't bring my Melusine to solo a CQ Sigurd...not yet at least), but I'm not quite yet a FGO Madlad so...eh. What do I know?

I think this is just a case of the content being made to accommodate her except in cases where the servant released FOR that event would do better on something that Draco struggles at. In recent years I feel they usually dont put any immediate or big obstacles for a servant the year of their release. New toy syndrome and stuff

Okey so, I think you got good points on your hot take, but at the same time Draco is still unbelievably broken as an unit. Having "counters" doesn't make her less broken, it just stops her for making all the rest of the st units irrelevant
The issue is the fixation on a character being broken. The only broken character is Castoria, Draco is an extremely powerful unit but she doesn't do anything to break the game (ignoring mechanics/obliterating the meta). I don't understand what's wrong with that though, it stops older units from being irrelevant.
@@jaskaranbajwa8443 well, Draco actually invalidates a lot of mechanics of the game. She can just walk into a lot of CQs and obliterate everything ignoring mechanics that most units would have to adapt to. Lots of old units are invalidated by Draco actually, just not all of them.
@@altheapolyam High damage isn't a broken attribute, damage only goes so far for one, any enemy that has break bars isn't getting their mechanics ignored.
@@altheapolyameverything Draco can do, castoria too can do, if you're talking about CQs, outside of solos castoria can already get the job done, and then there's something Draco can absolutely not do, farming in 90++(the true endgame) where castoria is the best ST unit in the game and the only one who can arguably come close to her is kintoki, anyone can do CQs but not many can farm 90++ where castoria shines

Using np5 lvl 120 does not solidify her being strong and usable against extra classes, to be fair when you evaluate someone you evaluate at its most common simple case (lvl90 np1). Ppl overrate her DMG because they use her at np5 and they compare her to other servants at np1 or lower than 4
They always look at things in general and never in practice

Idk but even if there will be more extra class enemies, she still is basically a stronger berserker anytime you fight a normal class servant. So no matter what, she is definitely a really useful character

I mean, a servant doesn’t need to do everything. Just be great at what they’re made for. Although I agree that there’s something about her skills that’s just odd and boring.
I don’t think the extra class thing is all that big a deal. Sure not a hyper omni-killer that hits everything insanely hard. But someone that can be used for most of the classes in the game at a high level seems pretty strong.
Usage will rise and fall depending on different events and stories, but that isn’t a big deal.

Pretty much. I still think them not using extra class mobs in farming is SUCH a wasted opportunity to actually make extra classes more useful than how much they do on neutral.
That and making mixed class nodes so the abnormal type effectiveness of classes like Pretender or Alter Ego play a role.

I know right? It's not like Draco is purposfully built to fight servants of the standard class containers first and foremost or anything. It's not like you can bring other units to deal with fights that Draco is unsuitbale for.
This whole idea of forcing units to do things that they are not good at is just... Odd. Sure, it can be fun from time to time to fight against the odds. But to treat it like it's such a bid deal is just no fun.

I think you messed up the defensive potential for sure and I remember wondering why you would think that her class affinities are not important when its in her flavor, but are important when its not (well at least partially since you did acknowledge the offensive ones). As an enjoyer of the Stheno FGO player experience, is it a hot take to say that next year FGO will have a major story battle/ challenge quest where the boss will have no debuff immunity/ mental debuff immunity/ charm immunity and will also identify themselves as he/ him/ male? The only problem is ppl who are evaluating her have her at np5 for sure, so they have no idea what her DMG looks like at np1, it makes you feel like you'd rather use someone with trait bonus than her
