You know what else I like besides graphical and gameplay updates? When developers keep in those silent still images during loading times. It really captures the old silent atmosphere as you wait for a game to load.

This remake is so good! Not just from the updated visuals and even the amazing voice acting, but also the little things. I'm so delighted by how the map marker goes along the paths on the map, through archways and the likes. Also very happy that the devs went with the original tone and didn't make weird changes unlike Resurrection for the most part. The Pumpkin King having more stages than just exploding the two chests and maybe hitting it two more times makes it less of a push-over. One thing I would have liked is a better explanation on why Dan freed the shadow demons. For us players there was no other way forward with our limited ways to explore the lands, but really there must have been other paths to the north without doing this.

The devs really did an amazing work at recreating the initial game environment and feel, I won't be surprised to learn some devs also play this game in their childhood and wanted to capture and deliver the same atmosphere. I remember from the original game that once you earn the warhammer from Stanyer Iron Hewer, you can go back to Dan's Crypt and crash a secret wall located within the level. Seeing your gameplay, maybe you should've gone in the appropriate order: After Scarecrow Fields, it should be Pumpkin Gorge > The Pumpkin Serpent > Sleeping Village and so on.
The ghost ship captain is very different from the original game. He's a lot easier here. Because believe me, in the original game, he's hard as hell !! His pirates come back to life in two seconds and they hit you very hard while you have to fire the two cannons and 90% of time (not kidding) the cannonball miss the boss.
Great remake but I still have to say that one unreal 4 trialer engine was a bit more fairy-tale atmosphere which for me fits more. I think if that trailer was used for full release that woul be even better remake :)
Can we take a second to appreciate how strong Sir 'Captain' Daniel Wigginbottom Fortesque IV is? Effortlessly pushes stones that would likely weigh around 2 tons. And the size of that war hammer suggests it weighs around 80-100lbs minimum yet he wields it without having any muscle at all. I know the magic brought him back but it seems to have made him super strong and very fast.
Omg! I JUST found out about this remake..It was the 1st game I played on ps1..I just bought a ps4 & it's on it's way for Christmas...I think its only fitting that I play this one first!
This is a way better walkthrough. Graphics are great. I used to have an older PlayStation console system. I liked playing the older version of this game then. I just wish they included the Nintendo switch when they remade this game. And no I am not going out to buy a television and a PlayStation 5 either. Just to play this game.

The narrator voice reminds me of the person also doing the voices of the Gloomseer in Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter. And Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.
I also have this game. Graphics are AMAZING, but here's the thing: When I get to The Ant Caves, when I go to leave at the end where the GREEN DOOR is supposed to be, it IS NOT GREEN, and I can't leave to finish. Obviously some type of a GLITCH in the game. I have since bought and downloaded MediEvil Resurrection, which enables CHEATS so I also don't have to CONTINUOUSLY DIE and have to do stuff over again.
If you get really low health after finishing one level, just go back to the first level cemetery Hill before you start the next one, it's the easiest and you'll probably fill up all your bottles

Can all games that are getting remade get the Medievil treatment? Pretty please? These games were great because how they were at the time. If anything, all they need is a graphical update, maybe some tweaks to the menu, and mild gameplay changes.
I'm in the Asylum Grounds and trying to spin the things with the faces, and your video glitches right in the middle of it so I don't know the order to go in. :( I just wanna know what to do here.
There is no order, you just need to be fast enough and turn all the faces to smiley one in a short time, so position all of them just one sword hit away from smile and then hit all of them within few seconds so they all turn towards the clown almost together
they re-used sir dans crypt more than once.. sounds like they were rushing to finish the game.. i didnt like how they changed sir dans hack n slash and how the ghost pirate captain throws clock parts
when you play any types of games in general do you already know what to do or are there times you just play a game and dont know whats coming when you upload your videos????

Good lord, I remember playing the original back in the fifth grade. So many fond memories playing Spyro and medievil.
There's a huge movie opportunity here. My imagination ran wild with this game as a kid.

I payed this game back in the 90's I loved it. It was so quirky and funny. one of the best games out.
The 90s had such cool dark & gothic animation like Medievil, the nightmare before Christmas, Batman the animated series.

To kill pirate's captain it is better to use Dragon armor. You must attack the cannon with fire
