That's a good question. Several other questions need to be answered first, such as how much will a new deal bring in and what will be CO's cut? Does CO sign off on a majority streaming deal? WA and OR want unequal revenue sharing with them getting a larger piece of the pie, will CO agree to give up some of their portion to satisfy WA and OR, especially if that portion falls below $20 Mill.? After seeing what Kliavkoff tried to do to UCLA, does CO trust Kliavkoff not to try and do the same to them??
They have very little choice it seems. Stay on a sinking Pac12 ship or go to the Big12 and have stability for the next 5 years. It will come down to Wa and Or being willing to sign a long term low $ TV deal and that is seeming unlikely.
@Landmantx | agreed...Oregon n Washington are kinda stuck . I don't think the B1G are offering anytime soon N the B12s deal is significantly lower than the other 2 conferences. I think theirs is 31.7M. N the other 2 are 70M n above
Oklahoma State fan here. I’d be really happy to have Colorado back in the Big XII. I think the conference has a place for all the origina Big 8 schools that left, and Colorado is the first school I’d like to see brought into the conference after the four schools we just added
Colorado and AZ schools. Greg Flugaur has an ASU alumni donor who has revealed that the AZ schools need to have something to hash out this week or else they will feel pressure to jump ship. His contact has said that they expect two separate media rights approaches from Commissioner Kliavkoff, one shorter term 3 -5 years and the second 6-7 years. It is believed that Oregon/Washington would NOT sign the longer term but the shorter term numbers not so good.
As a TV bigwig is supposed to have said, people worry about TV markets, that isn't what brings viewers - rivalries do. Colorado to the Big 12 brings Colorado vs Kansas, K-State, BYU and perhaps the 4-corner schools.
Arizona doesn't do daylight savings, so they are the same as Pacific time zone until November, so a 10PM EST is a 7PM kickoff in Arizona most of the season.
Well the Pac-12 reportedly made progress but doesn't have a deal yet, so the meeting may just be planning the next steps. Will have updates over on Athlon when something breaks
When is the last time CU has sold out a football game? Not sure if the "Denver Market" really cares about CU football. Adding Coach Sanders to the mix makes CU somewhat intriguing, but nobody knows if he will be successful or not.
OU fan here. So you guys want to crawl back to the Big 12? If I was in charge of the Big 12, I would let you come back, with a reduced revenue. It would be more than the PAC 12, but less than the regular members of the Big 12. When you guys left, you were dancing in the streets. Now you want to come back? How the worm turns! If you would have just waited, we would have brought you guys to the SEC! It would have been OU, Texas and we would've had to vouch for you, but I think we could have pulled some strings to get you in. But oh well, I'll be pulling for the team, G5 or Power 5. Go OU and go Buffs! Would love to get you in Norman, for old times sake!
Bottom line. The PAC12 is the Titanic of college football. Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and ASU need to join the BIG12. if they ever want to be seen again.
If teams start jumping Colorado can... Stay in the PAC, regardless of how low they payout is. Go to the BXII, Pray for a B1G invite, Go to the MAC, go independent. I don't know how many schools the XII want to add, so if they wait to long they could end up in the MAC waiting for a B1G invite.
The GulfPAC16 PAC to immediately add 6 (at least 3 are AAU) for the interim (which will give the PAC presense in every major market in the SW outside of L.A.), prior to B1G taking 7 current PAC members: Kansas(AAU), SMU (Dallas), Rice (AAU Houston), Tulane (AAU New Orleans), SDSU (San Diego), AND Air Force OR Houston OR New Mexico OR Hawaii OR Vanderbilt (AAU. if involuntarily booted from SEC, good travel partner for Tulane). -adding 3(4 if Vandy) more AAU schools for 10 (V11) total in the PAC. This will be announced and built with the media partners in a few weeks. Should the show not go on... (i.e. the B1G Pacific expansion), the future of the PAC will be very bright with these 16 Powerhouse Universities: Washington Washington State Oregon Oregon State California Stanford San Diego State Utah Colorado Kansas Arizona Arizona State Southern Methodist Rice Tulane AND Air Force OR Houston OR New Mexico OR Hawaii OR Vanderbilt.
Lol. Riiiight. Jayhawk front office be like: Keep Ames, Lubbock and Provo on the schedule! We never want to go to Seattle, San Diego, New Orleans, Boulder or the Bay! Lol. Get real.
@@westernciviccapital3075 Your right, why would we want to go to New Orleans and play in front of 16k or the Bay Area where everybody knows no one cares about football. We're not on vacation, we are an athletic league. This is something that west coasters have trouble comprehending.
@@charlieh108 based on what I know this is exactly what is going to happen. The PAC comes up with a last minute deal and stays together' allowing any existing school to leave for any conference with no penalty. Will leave the Big 12 holding their @#$% in their hand.

Colorado never felt right in the Pac 12. Time to go back to your roots and give BYU and Utah a great regional travel partner.
