This marked me for the years of my youth, and still watching it at 51...thank this Artist and the creative team who designed this wonderful show, including J.P. Gaultier, who designed the costumes! This is one of my fave performance of her she looks fierce, sexy and was really pushing the envelope of the conventions of that time. The 80s and the 90s were truly an interesting era. Everything was fresh and new.. Now everything is just rehashed and replicated.

I was there...well not there in Japan but at the Blond Ambition Tour, when it came to Oakland, CA in 1990. I love this show. It's the best concert I've ever seen. To think, I paid just around $30 bucks each for our tickets. Those were the days LOL! I wish I had a DVD of this. I have an old recorded VHS from the HBO airing of the final show of this tour. I taped it, and still watch it. The sound quality sucks compared to this.....

I totally agree with you. Yes, I have seen her new stage. I actually want to attend the show as soon as she hits the US. I actually don't like to dabble into the hatred that some of the fans create, I just look at this show extremely magnificent, especially for its time. I actually don't mind that gaga looks at Madonnas work for inspiration. I mean come one, this woman had some huge balls to pull off the things shes done in a time where many things weren't brought into light.

@veradodawg This is exactly what I've been saying. I like MJ, but he kept relying on the same old ideas and using them over and over and over instead of changing up & doing something different. He hasn't done anything new or fresh since the late 80s/early 90s. Even Janet changed up her image. I applaud Madonna for reinventing her image and doing what SHE wanted to do and not giving a f*** what society thought about it either. I have respect for her just for that. Love Madonna!

She is not having fun. She is performing great but she is so cerebral in the sense that she wants to perfect the dance moves that she is too in her head and she is stiff and uptight. She is best when she freeflows and just has joy on stage.

why is it that Born This way sounds like Express Yourself... but when I listen to Express Yourself i don't hear Born This Way? this song is on another level
@RKJCNE no the only reason is that this tour is a historical tour is because this tour influenced the concerts we have today! So she already and none will be ever to do it again!

I would say that the Monster Ball is the peak of Gaga's career. After Bad Romance era, I don't think she kept up with all the hype and reputation. Though Born Ball sure will make millions, her popularity has somewhat waned since Born this Way. Every single starting with Judas flopped. And here is Madonna, at her most popular and artistically talented at her FOURTH album.

I personally thought the Blond Ambition tour was her best concert...and I've seen pretty much all her concerts except for the last one(Sticky and Sweet) and the Girlie Show in 1993, which was a bit far from Chicago(well, Auburn Hills in Michigan which was too far to go for me at that time).
Madonna = feminism, in a positive way, though somewhat agressive here and there, lol.. I like her style. This is one of her best times imo.. motherhood did mellow her down a bit.. on some things.. not on all, she's a lioness... queen in her own way and will always be one.

The fact is, Gaga is the only pop star in the past 20 years good enough to merit a comparison. And even then, the comparisons are really grasping at straws and anythign blatant was clearly an homage.
