- In this episode I head down to the local river to try for some of the better chub that hide under the snags and in the deeper pools. I go equipped with a centrepin reel and light quiver tip rod to ledger a small piece of bread flake, a deadly tactic for chub! It certainly paid off in this session as I land some of the better chub I have caught this year! Thanks for watching, please subscribe to stay up to date with future fishing content.

Great video, well done.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent vid mate, centre pin fishing at its best solitary and undisturbed. All the best David.
Nice video mate. Lovely bit of roving down a small river. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
Brilliant ,would have liked to see a stick float going through on the pin even better .
Stick and pin is often my preferred method, but sometimes it's nice to mix things up. Obvious advantage of the running rig I used here is I can get it right under the snags where the fish are.
That was a good watch. Good to see that old reel get a workout... hope you are enjoying the more direct contact it gives you with the fish.
Glad you enjoyed! Its brilliant ledgering with a pin, especially when the fish takes off and the clickers on.... getting in some practice to hopefully use a similar heavier set up for barbel!
Excellent video, just like your other ones. Nice to see some great young chub there. Lovely centerpin.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed!
Very nice video! Great job! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks so much!
Great video. Just came across your channel earlier in the week and watched lots of your videos. Really like them. The variety of your fishing is ace, just what I like doing in almost the same part of the country. Keep making the videos! All the best, Alex.
Many thanks! Glad you are enjoying them. I tend to keep method and venue quite varied as I enjoy all styles of fishing. More videos to come....
glad to see you using a trudex i used my trudex from 1954 to 15 years ago then bought 2 youngs special edition . i only centerpins for all fishing ..................
Would like a heritage, maybe one day!
I used to fish the foss as a child on Haxby road. I used to love catching the gudgeon on my little rod under the railway bridge on dodsworth park with my brother . Whereabouts were you fishing.
Nice to see the chub moving back towards the city. One advantage of down there is that the fish get used to people walking past so aren't quite as jittery.
I have seen a lot of very nice fish around at the moment. Catching them is another matter! Even though they are not too bothered as soon as you start fishing them seem to disappear....
Great work 👍
Hi, fisherman great videos. 👍👍👍👍👍Thumbs up. So I recently found the magic of CenterPin, the one you have in the video is nice, What type is it? Here in the Czech Republic, the center pin is in short supply in the store. That center pin of yours in the video is gray, not sun glare. Thank you for your answer. Bye, Eric.
Glad you enjoy the videos, thanks for watching! Centrepins are great reels, the one in this video is a trudex 2, quite old and not made anymore but you might find a second hand one.
Centrepin is brilliant on small rivers! 😊
I always really enjoy trotting with a centrepin, but I think ledgering is even more fun.
Nice to see someone using a Trudex for chub fishing, nice video.
Thanks, this method is one of my favourite for chub!
Another great video mate!
Cheers pal!
Great video, haven't fished the foss for years but then again I haven't fished for years.
Cheers, as you can probably tell from the channel title... I am fishing there quite a bit! A brilliant river with some surprises!
Can't believe how weedy it now is. Really enjoy the content.
@@jodep2198 I am looking forward to the winter to clear out some weed. It can fish really well then.
Great video. What landing net handle do you use, I’m looking to get a retractable one?. Thanks
I think this was a decathlon one I picked up, I have a similar one with rubber mesh that is fox but find the folding mechanism too stiff.
great video is the foss day ticket or club owned love to give it a try
Thanks! The city centre stretch of the Foss is free, as is the Ouse. You can see the full limits on the council website.
Love your videos! Which Centrepin reel do you prefer?
I enjoy both of them, the trudex is better for ledgering in my opinion.
What reel is that
It's a Young's trudex.
Thanks so much
